On 25 Nov 1963, CBS news broadcast 3 different reports from Dan Rather at KRLD, Dallas describing what he saw when he viewed the Zapruder film earlier that same day. This 1st report was broadcast on CBS TV news in NY in the afternoon. Each report differs in details of scenes Mr. Rather reportedly saw that do not match the officially released Zapruder film authorized by the Zapruder heirs in 1998 on ‘Image Of An Assassination’. As the result of research published by Doug Horne, Greg Burnham, Jim Fetzer, David Lifton, John Costella & other JFK visual analysts, many now believe Mr. Rather was describing a film that was subsequently falsified by government operatives at a secret film lab before the public 1st viewed it on TV in 1975.

JFK researcher & author Richard Trask published in 2 of his books a Richard Sprague transcript of the initial KRLD CBS radio report (not broadcast on TV) from Dan Rather in Dallas speaking to New York CBS correspondents Richard C. Hottelet & Hughes Rudd about viewing the last Zapruder film original copy in Mr. Zapruder’s lawyer office (Sam Passman) on 25 Nov 1963. That radio report brings the total known Dan Rather Z-film description broadcasts to 4. I’ll post a link to it when it becomes available on the Internet.

This broadcast does not match the 3 TV broadcasts or the KRLD CBS radio report transcribed by Richard Trask/Richard Sprague. Not known is if it is a TV or radio broadcast or outtake.
The KRLD Dan Rather CBS radio report of 25 Nov 1963 can be heard free of charge at the reading room of the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas. Copies cannot be provided by the museum because of CBS copyright restrictions.
