1939. Amateur complete film of the Summer Camp organized by the New York branch of the German-Americans workers’ organization DAB (Deutsch – Amerikanische Berufsgemeinschaft) in Riverdale, N.J.
Thanks to friend youtuber ffrick73 we can be more precise about the location of the film. Here his note.
“Just a correction, it is in what was Riverdale, NJ, now part of Kinnelon NJ. I used to hunt and fish on the grounds in the 80’s, which had been abandoned for many years. On the old fences were old signs that said keep out, with the Bund insignia on it.The foundation of field house seen in the video served as a foundation for a mansion years later. It is all now a upscale housing development.”

You mention in the description that a fellow YouTuber stated that the camp was in Riverdale, NJ but is now part of Kinnelon, NJ and is the site of upscale housing… This is mostly incorrect.
The camp was and still is in Riverdale, NJ. The camp ruins are still there and I just hiked them this summer. It is on Federal Hill, which is State property and not developed… no housing there.
I took many photos there and I encoded my photos with GPS. Many of them were selected for Google Earth and can be viewed on Google Maps to see their exact location. Here is a link to all my photos from the hike, including the ruins of the building shown in your video, artifacts located at the ruins and many other interesting finds.
