Baltimore is experiencing its second deadliest year on record, with 319 homicides committed in the city so far in 2017.
The deadliest year on record occurred in 2015 with 344 homicides, reported The Baltimore Sun.
Baltimore’s Democratic Mayor Catherine E. Pugh called the violence in 2017 “out of control,” and said she would be increasing the number of police officers to 3,000, according to The Baltimore Sun.
The most recent murder took place in East Baltimore, where an unidentified 21-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday, near Lafayette. The suspect is named Allen Hosea Johnson Jr. and was banned from owning a firearm due to past criminal convictions.
Carjackings have also risen by 32 percent since 2016, and the city is on pace to close out the year with more than 1,000 shootings, The Baltimore Sun reported.
Just sort of musing here….
I wonder what the US’s ACTUAL gun-murder rate would be if these cities were quarantined; Baltimore, DC, Detroit, Chicago?
The anti-gunners wouldn’t have a whole lot of ‘statistics’ to point to, now would they?
Whats even more disturbing are the numbers you see posted on the interstates. For Example, ” This year 3500 killed on Illinois interstates, don’t drink and drive”
3500 killed on illinois interstates, really? How about 3500 killed somewhere in illinois, and we are going to hide it, calling it drunk driving deaths.
I drive for a living, 3000 miles per week, hundreds of that in illinois. No way in hell are these many so called drunk driving deaths on illinois interstates, and highways, no way in hell.
Murders are being hid this way. Just to clarify I’m not anti gun, just the opposite, I’m just pointing out how murders are hid, many of which are by the cops.

I don’t really care if the animals kill each other, because it’s rare that an innocent person is killed.

I wonder if police killings are part of the total, because more cops will definitely increase the numbers.
Every penny of tax dollars ….Welfare to house , feed, clothe…the bastard children…hospital bills, the morgue, the burial. Which political party champions this?
