57 ships Anchored off shore of NJ, MD, VA

Investment Watchblog – August 13, 2013

Not sure what’s going on, might be nothing, but never saw this before! In a Weather Program I use I have the program set to get Weather and Ocean reports from anchored ships off shore. In this case ships anchored offshore in the Mid Atlantic States off the coast of NJ and MD/VA.

On the marinetraffic.com website this is not shown, might be due to being to far off shore!

4 days ago there was 12 ships anchored in a group 100 miles offshore of MD and VA. Right now theres 23 ships anchored in this group

The last 2 days another group of ships, but spread a bit further apart is anchored off the NJ shore starting from 25 miles out to aprox 150 miles off shore. In all 32 ships are anchored.

In the FULL RES screen capture images I uploaded you will see this. Look for the Green Anchor Icons. Each Icon is a Anchored Ship. The blue flags are wind direction and wind speed reports from those ships. For more info I hover my mouse over the ship (which you will see in second image)

  1. I would like to see the radar from the Gulf and the West Coast as well. If they show up there, we may be in trouble. Hopefully, it is just china and russia flexing.

  2. Backed up cargo ships or military ships? Not sure this isn’t normal but not knowing what goes on out there i can’t come up with a good answer. Is strange though.

  3. LTC Roy Potter has been saying this for months now. It would be nice if the author of this article gave us a link to the program he is using so we can keep an eye on the situation too.

    . . .

  4. What ship types? Derelicts, container, warships, bonka boats, etc? Be good to know what country they’re flagged under too.

    1. Why would China need to physically invade the USA? If China wants to speed up the collapse now taking place, all they’d have to do is start dumping some of those trillions of USD’s they have or start cashing those T-bills and watch America implode without a shot being fired.

  5. Are there refineries near these stacked ships ?
It could be nothing more than oil tankers being
stacked so as to increase the price of gas, by limiting
the access of crude to refineries….just thinking out loud….
But if it is un troops and equipment staging,
the dance might be starting soon.
So many things seem to be falling into places, sort of.

  6. Just went to the site Cathleen found.
If one clicks on the boat, a window with
    complete description comes up.
The majority of the ships that’s in the article
don’t appear. Maybe ’cause they’re military.
Note, I didn’t find one military ship on the
    Live Maritime site…How curious.
