Becoming a 99er is certainly a culture shock. Within the space of a couple of years, you go literally from riches to rags. When you first realize that you just can’t to go right out and get another job, you become angry as you see your world falling apart and know you made no mistake to cause your downfall. After a year with no money you find that you quit looking in shop windows and confine your time in the store to the grocery area as everything else is just out of the question.
As you’re selling off everything you own you are watching the rich Wall Street CEOs, who destroyed your life, prosper like they never have before. Then you find out that your government, not only does not care about your plight, but has actually participated in orchestrating it. At this point, some start thinking of suicide and others about murder. But the truly intelligent started thinking about arresting the criminals, taking the money back, and seeing the thieves punished. I think most 99ers have come to the healthy conclusion that all talk of unemployment extensions is just that, talk designed to stall.
The criminals in the elite are still stealing with both hands. You catch them stealing at the bank and they just change tactics and start stealing at the grocery store and the gas pump. The fact is I don’t know if 2012 is going to be soon enough. If we just keep waiting we may find ourselves holding our 2012 election in the third world.
I don’t know exactly what it is going to take to make the American public act. I guess maybe when we are watching our children and grandchildren starving to death in the streets with bloated bellies and blowflies buzzing about them maybe we will be able to find our courage. That is the trouble with living in the richest nation on the planet; many of us still have a lot to lose. And in a country such as ours, hope tends to spring eternal.
Our founding fathers did not allow themselves to be pushed to the point of hopeless desperation. But then they were not divided and in reality that is our biggest obstacle to over overcome. But we are making headway, as our people have seen through the propagandist’s tricks and found that united, realizing our power is as simple as ignoring the propagandists, who have always worked to divide us by race, religion, gender, and culture.
The American people and the American race were of a distinctive culture a mere thirty years ago. That is when the dividing tactics began as an attack on our vanity. What better way to divide people than to appeal to the individual and tell them, “You are better than your neighbor because you came from Europe and he or she came from Africa” or “You are a catholic and he or she is a protestant” or “You have more money than your neighbor and therefore you are superior and therefore you hate your neighbor because he or she wants you to give them something.”
What we have failed to see until the present is that our treasonous government is the mechanism of prejudice. When I hear someone complain about welfare, I ask the person complaining, “Did that poor person take your money with a gun or was it the government?” Right now, today, if all the poor refused welfare, do you really think the government would give one damn dollar back or even stop taxing you to any degree? No they would not.
Right now the rich are trying to turn us against one another to their benefit. See, it is not bad for the middle class person to say, take that welfare and food stamps from the poor person and give it to the rich corporations. And it is perfectly okay for the poor person to say take Social Security from the old and raise taxes on the middle class and give the money to the rich corporations.
What you can’t say is, take the $26 trillion back from the corporate thieves that stole it and give it back to the poor and middle class they stole it from. This they say is redistribution of wealth from the top to the bottom. Taking Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, welfare, and funding for schools and giving subsidies and tax breaks to big billion dollar corporations, on the other hand is called balancing the budget.
The $50 billion we are currently paying to big oil companies who are raping us at the pumps and making record profits, would easily pay for not only HR 589 but also a Tier 5 extension. Just look at these incredulous bastards and hear what they are saying to you.
You American citizens who have worked all of your lives and are now dying a slow death in squalor should be left to that fate so that the filthy filthy rich can add another couple of feet to their pile of wealth that already extends up into the clouds. A majority of that wealth consisting of the property that belonged to the 99ers before the filthy filthy rich destroyed our economy through their theft of the $26 trillion.
The time is right, we are united. We have the power, now let’s use it. I’m not sure just how we are going to apply the power. I hope there is some peaceful way left, but I am not a fool. The bottom line is lawless government is fertile breeding ground for vigilantism, which turns into chaotic revolution. We need to overcome our fears and stand as one united force demanding that the traitors vacate our country. If they refuse we must use our laws. That means charges, trials, convictions, and punishment in an organized fashion.
A chaotic revolution will so destroy our country that it will take years to rebuild, whereas a peaceful, though stern assertion of power will allow us to regain our freedom and prosperity, literally within a matter of months. Our enemies know this. That is why they are trying to push us to chaos. With chaos they get to rape our country right into the third world, then sit back and laugh at what they have done while in their Chateaus in Switzerland.
Unite people, talk to everyone you meet. It has come to the point that you are either for us or against us and there is little left to lose, except our chains.

What I can’t understand is this: They claim we are broke, but though we are supporting the war in Afghanistan and we’re flying fighter jets over Libya. I know that must be costing billions of dollars just for that alone. Then there is talk or should I many threats about privitizing medicare, take in consideration that Social Security recipients haven’t received a cost of living raise in the past TWO YEARS! But I am willing to bet that OUR government officials, got at least a raise or two in their salaries. Now let me talk about all these PAID vacations they are granted in a given year: It seems like every month they take off for two weeks! You wonder why they don’t get anything done. All I hear anymore is cuts in this program, or that program. You know the very same programs that benefits the OTHER 98%! Why don’t they take a cut in their pay and stop granting these tax breaks for the ones who don’tneed them. Besides in the pockets of the very rich, where is all this money going. I know darn well, I haven’t received a damn cent, for I am one of the millions of 99ERS you forgot about! Where are the jobs! Oh, yes, in China right? Do you plan on helping the tornado victims form the midwest, or does that fall under the line of NOT YOUR PROBLEM TOO! that great im sitting here with three dollars in my pocket to my name. i just spent two horrible days in a homelesshelter with criminals gangbangers drug addicts hiv positive people and people with mental problems stuck in a room on top of eachother money takin out of my pocket when i was sleeping. i have never committed a crime in my life cant find work that is my one problem at the moment for three years nothing finally get an offer for homedepot but it’s a hundred miles away it’s unbelievable and it’s part time im asking when is someone going to start the revolution im ready and iv’e finally had it this goverment is trying to kill us off they dont give a crap abought us they soon watch us all die before they help us.im wondering is there anyone out there who’s in the same situation as me it would make me feel a little better.

I’m a 99er and have been since April 2010. I was a manager in the auto industry for 22 yrs. I went from making 120k a year with a bonus to making 0. I worked my ass off my whole life to get to that point and it’s all gone. I’m now 48 years old and can’t even buy a job at Home Depot or McDonald’s. I’m one of the fortunate few that saw this coming 15 years ago when they opened up NAFTA and I watched the big 3 ship all of our jobs over seas. I convinced my wife that we needed to make additional payments to pay the house off early which is the only reason we still have it. (property taxes are a different story) We now hunt, fish, and grow our own food. Hunting and fishing seasons no longer apply in my book. If we need food I go get. If we want a glass of wine or a beer sometimes you just have to wait because we make that to. I spend most of my days hauling scrap metal (if I can find it) to pay the “Idiots in Office” my property taxes. Even though the bank says I own it. What a joke! You never actually own it. The revolution that Brian s and Clark speak of is for real. So you all better start getting ready to stand up and lock and load. The harsh reality is there are no unemployment extensions coming……… period! The unemployment rate is tracked by the number of people CURRENTLY drawing it. Do you actually think any Politician will vote for something that will show that the true unemployment rate is 3 times what they’re showing us. Not gonna happen people! So my suggestion to everyone is to start growing, shooting and catching food. And reload a whole shit load of ammo……………. because it’s coming. People have had enough…………. including me.

I have a suggestion since we can’t get the main stream media news programs to broadcast our critical unemployment situation referred to as 99ers, why don’t we flood the internet with our plight? Our biggest problem is the lack of media attention. Since we don’t have the transportation money to march on anywhere, Washington D C, our State Capitols our City Halls or even our local Unemployment Offices. On a daily basis I suggest we flood the internet with a simple message. If someone can word this better than I, any suggestions are welcome.

Just another day at the homeless shelter…all is lost including any help from family. 99er for ‘only’ 7 months been unemployed for 3 years. College degree and 20 years of solid experience doesn’t mean anything anymore. I am 52 and single with no kids and all ‘friends’ have evaporated. Every day I wonder if it will be my last. I wish I could fight a while longer but not even sure I will make it till tomorrow. HOWEVER from my 20 years in advertising I offer this critical component to ANY plea on behalf of the 99ers – there must be a ‘call to action’ statement and direction. Some people know we are out here – just don’t know how to help. Remember Farm Aid? Hurricane Katrina? Various disasters around the world? Now tornadoes? All have an 800 number or website to direct people where to send contributions. Then figure out how to distribute these funds. Forget the media and politicians. They know we don’t have any money so we are of no interest to them. This has got to be organized just like any other non-profit relief situation. Sending emails is a great idea but without specific direction it will just land in the spam folders. What we need is a celebrity spokesperson!!

I too am a 99er. I never thought it would come to this hellish situation. We need a fifth tier of unemployment and it should be paid for with all the foreign aid, for starters. Tax products made in foreign countries with such a high import tax that it is not worth it to make these products outside of the country. And that includes products manufactured in foreign countries for American businesses. Unemployment is more than the official figures convey to the public and companies are sitting on record profits and will not hire Americans. If you have been looking for a job for more than two years as I have, then you know it is almost impossible to land a job. I am 55, have worked all my life, and never thought this would happen to me or anyone in the U.S. that wanted to work that did not have a criminal record. There is a revolution coming, as soon as the majority of people collecting benefits turn into 99ers and the homeless outnumber the people working. But the politicians do not care, because they have such favorable compensation that they have put in place over the years for themselves, that they will never be broke or homeless, and if it ever came close to that, their fatcat cronies would hook them up with a taxpayer funded job. I am beyond scared. Write your politicians every week and tell them that we need a fifth and a sixth tier and maybe a seventh or they need to create jobs and stop giving our tax money away to foreign countries. I paid taxes for all of my 30-plus working years so it is my money, too. Stop giving it away to other countries when there are so many desperate out-of-work Americans.

You make excellent points. May I suggest we begin changing our vocabulary a bit?
How about if we stop reinforcing the buzz phrase “create jobs” with “stop disabling job creation”? We are only enabling the perpetuation of the absurd delusion that government is the “source” of employment, production, and resulting prosperity. It is not and never has been the role of government to “create” anything. It is the role of government to protect and preserve what is created by the people. This well and long promoted, perverse ideology is the tap root of the disease itself. It is very important that we get clear on this point. They are public servants…not doting, providing parents, not Godfathers, and certainly not rulers….at least not yet. A suggestion offered kindly and respectfully is that you read up on who Henry Ford was, for one, and trace the “creation” of Ford Motor Company and its impact on society.
