The House Ways and Means Committee will be taking up the matter of the 2012 budget when Congress reconvenes today. In examining their site I see no indication that HR 589 will even be mentioned. Hopefully I am wrong. It would be nice as a citizen to be able to go to the site for the House Ways and Means and look at a docket that would show exactly what the subcommittee on Human Services is doing in lieu of deciding the matter of HR 589.
I think we should continue to call and email the congress people making up the subcommittee if for no other reason than to let them know that we are still out here and are not just going to go away.
The mainstream propaganda machine has been running in high gear attempting to create an alternate reality wherein our country is prospering, jobs are plentiful, and of course the 99ers do not exist. I’ve said if before and I’ll say it again, mainstream propagandists represent the first obstacle the 99ers must remove if we want our cause to go forward. I have suggested in the past investigating and exposing the lead propagandists as the complete frauds they are.
Originally to broadcast over the air that which was considered news, it had to be directed at the public good. But as the international corporate mafia has taken control of the airwaves all you see now is poorly veiled plots designed to allow our oppressors to smile in our faces while driving the dagger in our backs.
I sincerely hope at least a few among us might decide to take the bull by the horns and go after the propagandists and treat with them like we should be treating with all our enemies.
A lot of new 99ers are coming into existence every day. So to you just joining in on the fun, I say do not give in to apathy; get mean. Those who have brought you to this misery hate you, and would see you and everyone you love dead, as you are nothing more to them than a pack of dogs that they have bred for a purpose that no longer exists and now you are just getting in the way of them enjoying the riches they have stolen.
This being the case we must turn on them like a pack of wild dogs that has been abused and has nothing left in their lives but hurting those who have hurt them.
In short do not be nice to your oppressors and detractors. If they try to belittle you, spit your venom in their face with complete contempt. There is no individual on this earth that possesses more power than a human being fighting for his or her life. And rest assured that is what we are doing. Our enemies are not going to make right with us just because it dawns on them one day that it is the right thing to do.
We do not have wealth, thus the only power we can achieve in the face of an enemy hell bent on our destruction is to instill a healthy fear of us in them. The enemies of the free peoples of the United States have far over-extended themselves and are quite aware of that fact. Like Gadoffi in Libya they are going to meet dissent with brutal oppression. The time has come to show them that we 99ers, as a consequence of our oppression, have become the meanest dogs in the fight.

I do not believe this is going to be mentioned let alone passed. If they wanted to do something they would have done it by now. The government does not care about us, they do not care about the have-nots. If you die or starve so be it, it’s no skin off their nose. They are have what they need in abundance and we are the expendables, the collateral damage hardly worth a second thought. Especially since the Republicans are in charge! They are cutting every program that helps the underdog. They want to turn this country into a third world nation, meaning the poor and rich. The middle class is rapidly shrinking. There was a program on CNN where they were discussing the power that government actually has over you. They can deny you medication, take your home or other assets if they wish. The government is NOT your friend! Politicians are only interested in increasing their wealth. Even the “friendly” ones are stabbing you in the backs behind closed doors (former President Clinton and current President Obama). No I see that we are on our own, and whatever we need to obtain we must fight for. BTW the recession is not over, that is a bold faced lie. The only reason that is being said is to get consumer to spend more money to help this sluggish economy. Once again all about the money. This recession will not be over until at least 2015 and this is based on financial experts. I do not have another four years to wait I am middle-aged and every year counts. But this situation has helped me to realize what I must do and it has encourged me to change my way of thinking if I am to survive.
Henry is so RIGHT ON in all of his articles. He speaks with truth, conviction and inspiration to those out there who may be lacking in such at a time when all three are most needed. Bravo.
The unemployed and 99ers need to step up their game big time and end this S&M scenario being played out with our government and members of Congress, otherwise the outcome of this whole situation will be the one that we get, and unfortunately, deserve. The DemoRats and RepuliCons are switch hitters; both party’s are playing on the same team with the same agenda. It’s like good cop, bad cop, it doesn’t matter which party takes which role, as long as the ends justifies the means that they had intended from the onset.

Because it seems we’re going nowhere fast. So here we sit without any lifelines (money, jobs, etc) trying to hold on in all this madness that has been perpetrated against us by the powers that be. Thousands of us are sinking faster every day into the abyss than those on the Titanic. Who would have thought that two years or more ago we (and other parts of the world) would be in the situations we are in today.

I think most of the 99ers/unemployed/underemployed are to the point where they have just given up on our politicians. Like clock work each day I email the White House/Republicans/Democrats/State and Local officials and media outlets regarding the Jobs situation and help for the 99ers. To this day I have not received a response from anyone and I have been doing this for months. Also, many may not have internet connections, phone service from either loosing their homes or having to cut way back way.
I hope I am wrong but this fight seems to be over. I am disappointed for sure that the President/Democrats seem to be idle on this issue, as is the media coverage.
Democrats are focused on their re-elections and Republicans are focused on the Tea Party.

What’s really got me angry is the democrats talking about trying to obtain funding to retrain all the “unskilled” out-of-work people. Unemployment = lack of skills As if the reason we are unemployed is our lack of marketable skills. This angers me to the point of fury. Gee, Senator or Representative cronycrap, just what jobs are there that I might get retrained for? They purposely spew this nonsense, and the result is that those of us who can’t find work are looked upon as delinquent – not even lazy anymore, but pathetic. This horsesnot gives their corporate patrons the green light to continue outsourcing since now it should be understandable to all the brain-fogged public that they just have to go where they can get the skilled labor. “Americans just don’t have the math and science skills.” BULLHONKY.
Did anyone see the article regarding the big business of college? Privatizing colleges and universities hasn’t been the smash hit that they expected – and now they’re trying to convince anyone who is braindead enough to listen that the only way little farquar can make it in this world is if Mom/Dad use the equity in their home as collateral for the $100,000 education that won’t guarantee a job, but will allow the banksters to put a big fat lien on their home when little farquar can’t afford the $1500/month to pay the college loan. Obummer’s crew wants to privatize secondary education – can you imagine what our school taxes will look like if they accomplish this? Since our colleges/universities are heavily invested in the military industrial complex, the tricksters in congress have recently determined that the (gov’t) taxpayers will need to allocate some money (bailout) to retrain the suddenly untransferable skills of the unemployed? Frankly, it will probably be used to coax more Asians into this country. (Not that there’s anything wrong with the Asian people – it’s just that the American people shouldn’t have to pay to train them, because of some deal that “our” representatives have organized to encourage China or India to invest or choose U.S. transnationals over Germany for example? I suspect that having the joker Imelt as the Chamber of Commerce Secretary AND CEO of G.E. will try to force China to choose between Siemens vs G.E. Personally, I’d take Siemens AG any day of the year over anything the corrupt G.E. – quality and care for their employees trumps the destructive G.E. thugs any day.
The ads on tv indicate that most Americans are on to the education scam – now even the technical schools are begging for applicants. Anyone dumb enough to think that the corporations will hire you over an Asian should just go sign up. Until we demand that there be a change in this country, “our” representatives will continue to operate on behalf of the investor class leaving the working class to foot the bill.
Capitalism doesn’t fail because it can always rely on socialism to bail it out.
I hate to disagree with the efforts on here and many other sites. Its time to go after the media, why cant we pick a day and 99ers all over protest a media station in your area?Im sure most would agree that emailing and calling local reps. hasnt worked. Just imagine if 1 major news network metioned a story about us everyday, then the others would copycat and do the same. No other network would just let 1 keep telling the story every day. No matter how shallow the reasioning would be, networks love having news that the others dont. Its nice that there is a story here and there about us, but this needs to be driven home everyday.Not only would that help in getting anything passed but it would also give us 99ers some real hope, I like many m so tired of hearing the same story all the time, this bill will be introduced or this 1 will finally happen. Unfortunately, I agree with most of you. With all of the focus being on lowering the deficit and less taxes on the rich and corporations, the man on the street doesn’t have much of a chance. Pretty soon, there will be enough people who find themselves in this situation that there will be a revolt. Most 99ers, without any income, do not have access to a computer or other news media. I know many people who have lost their homes, cars and moved in with their kids or family.

Finally, now that there is a recession in motion the only way we can stop it is; to invest BACK into the economy and also help the 99ers so they can contribute from their end…. by passing a TIER V, so that the FIRST people laid off (99ers) can get back on their feet and the money they receive will be immediately pumped back into the deficient /failing economy.

As long as 10% of the people in the U.S. hold 70% of the wealth then we are doomed. Let’s put that in real numbers 10% equals 3 million 100 thousand people and that leaves 306 million and 900 thousand people to divide up the 30% of wealth in this country. I have place several calls over the last few weeks to his “offices” and have been unable to find out EVEN as a voter in his district. So this morning I made several calls to newspapers in his district. Maybe they can find out!!
Keep CALLING your representatives and the committee. If you are from one of their districts and can not find out how they feel about it. I invite you to do the same!
