I don’t think so – After 44 years in the trucking business, I’m guessing that I’ve seen a few brake cans [pods/systems] – the ones depicted here are a spring loaded [bendix] type; wherein they activate when air pressure is in the “service” line and/or when air pressure drops below a set [65psi] in the “emergency” line – therefore, if you were to hit the “E” line (and break it) the brakes [all of them] would activate with the equivalent of 70psi (the drive train could over-ride this type of pressure, on the brakes, but not for very long [100yds or so?]) – and there is no type of hit that would “cause” all of the vehicles brakes to fail [or stop working] – without having the spring [emergency] brakes apply.
Therefore, in my opinion; Any try at hitting that top [and not bottom] 3/4inch air line [and not the pod] with a centerfire rifle bullet would most likely just give your position away.
From what I’ve read about these vehicles and their variants they use NAVISTAR engines. Anyone own a Ford pickup with that dang “POWER STROKE”, and wish you could DE-STROKE your ford? They have problems coming right out of the shute. From what I’ve studied about these engine types for my own business I know enough to absolutely hate them. In time if this government keeps pressing its luck with the population I would predict that they are going to find out the hard way just how bad for THEM these vehicles realy are. I honestly hope they buy more of them. What a POS.
Another thing on the windows alone they claim can stop a 50 BMG round. Well? How about 2 50 BMG rounds in the same spot, or 4 308 rounds in the same spot. All get the idea? A few cans of black tar mixed with diesel or a few jars of black paint aimed at the bullet proof glass would help, as would some jury rigged smoke bombs.
