Abbott directs Texas State Guard to monitor Jade Helm 15 exercises

In the wake of intense vocal opposition to a series of military exercises planned for this summer in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott has instructed the Texas State Guard to monitor the operation dubbed Jade Helm 15.

Abbott sent a letter Tuesday to Maj. Gen. Gerald “Jake” Betty, commander of the Texas State Guard, directing him to provide regular updates to the governor to ensure that residents’ “safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed” during the eight weeks of training from July to September.

U.S. military officials have described the Jade Helm 15 operations as a long-planned military exercise occurring throughout the Southwest — including parts of Bastrop County — that will include special forces units from multiple armed services, such as Army Green Berets and Navy SEALs. The training will take place in locations across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.

In his letter, Abbott notes that the U.S. Special Operations Command, which is running the exercise, “has assured Texas that each location selected for the training exercises will pose no risk to residents or property and that they will coordinate with local residents via verbal and written communication.”

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! RLMAO!!!!!

He HAD to put that in writing, ’cause he sure as hell couldn’t have said it out loud with a straight face.

  2. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ROLMFAO!!! At least Rick Perry was only mentally handicapped. Wheels is both physically AND mentally handicapped.

No risks on people’s Rights, while they are committing blatant treason. It’s about the same as saying, “We’re not stealing your money” as we’re snatching it from your hands.

How do these guys live with themselves? What a joke.

  3. So he “wrote a letter”. WOW! BIG WHOOPTIE-DOOOOOO! A LETTER! Wow.

Anything short of him saying they CANNOT DO JADE HELM IN TEXAS is a crock.

A letter? He wrote a letter? Wow! Big deal!

That’s like Neville Chamberlain holding up that piece of paper when Hitler was taking bordering countries. He should hold upo the letter like Chamberlain.

Maybe the letter was “strongly worded”, and he also gave them a “GOOD FROWNING”, too!
