Shoppers at the Arrowhead Towne Center were startled by gunshots fired by an armed citizen in the parking lot, who was helping out a loss prevention officer being held by criminals at gunpoint.
According to reports a man and a woman were holding up a loss prevention officer when an armed man moved in firing at the Bonnie and Clyde wannabes.
“Fearing for the safety of his wife and the loss prevention officer, the male fired his handgun an unknown number of times toward the armed suspect. There are witnesses who indicate that either one or more of the shoplifting suspects may have been hit by the gunfire. Both of the shoplifting suspects then got onto a black motorcycle and fled the area,” stated Glendale Police Sgt. Jay O’Neill.
The police found a motorcycle that matched the description of the suspect’s getaway vehicle parked at a nearby apartment, but so far the suspects are still at large. If they did indeed suffer gun shot wounds from the armed citizen it will be easier to track them down if they show up at any area hospitals.
No shots were returned at the brave citizen who just may have saved the life of the mall cop by rightfully carrying a gun per Arizona law.
According to Arizona law you can use force to defend yourself or somebody else.
