The Pentagon is set to begin training 5,000 to 8,000 Libyan soldiers by mid-2014 to solidify the nation’s security forces, according to the head of US Africa Command. Gen. David Rodriguez told reporters Thursday that the US is planning a 24-week training program to aid Libyan security forces still in disarray since the US-backed ouster of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. The General also expressed concern over another potential attack similar to the siege at Nairobi’s Westgate Mall in September that killed 67 people.   Continue reading “US military to train up to 8,000 Libyan soldiers by midyear”

The Indian diplomat whose arrest and strip-searching in New York caused a major rift between India and the United States was indicted for visa fraud on Thursday, and the U.S. government immediately asked her to leave the country.

A U.S. government official said Washington accepted a request by India to accredit the diplomat, Devyani Khobragade, at the United Nations and then asked New Delhi to waive the diplomatic immunity that status conferred. India denied the request, leading Washington to ask for her departure, the official said.   Continue reading “India diplomat indicted, asked to leave U.S.”

We have watched the satellite photos reveal how storm after storm formed up, as usual, in the Kamchatka, Korea and Northern Japan (Fukushima) areas of the North West Pacific.   Continue reading “Satellite Photos Show Pacific Storms Stopped Cold, Destroyed”

The chemical, used in the coal preparation process, leaked from a tank at Freedom Industries and overran a containment area on Thursday. Mess with us, we’ll mess with you. That is the message one can derive from JPMorgan’s surprise announcement that it plans to “sell or wind down its business of issuing prepaid cards for corporate payrolls and government tax refunds and benefits.” Which also includes the infamous Electronic Benefits Transfer, or foodstamps, card. According to Reuters, the product, which has been offered with cash and treasury services to companies and governments, “had become a headache of risks in operations and regulations, according to a person familiar with the matter who was not authorized to speak publicly.”   Continue reading “JPMorgan To Exit Foodstamp, Other Prepaid Cards Business”

Partially frozen Niagara FallsYahoo News

The polar vortex that has gripped the U.S. and Canada this week has led to some spectacular icy images. The latest come from Niagara Falls, which partially froze Tuesday when the temperature hit a record low of minus 2 degrees.

Aaron Harris, a photographer for Reuters, took several shots of the 167-foot frozen falls Wednesday. The ice formed on the U.S. side of the falls, which straddle the border with Canada.   Continue reading “Stunning photos of partially frozen Niagara Falls”

Republicans claim the Justice Department’s investigation of the IRS targeting scandal is “compromised,” after revealing that it’s being led by one of President Obama’s political supporters.

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, the lawmakers said they’ve learned trial attorney Barbara Kay Bosserman is leading the probe. They detailed federal campaign finance records showing she’s given more than $6,000 to Obama’s two presidential campaigns — and urged Holder to remove her from the case.    Continue reading “Republicans call for removal of Obama supporter leading IRS targeting probe”

Blessed prayer warrior friends……..

We apologize for being late today in getting out this update.

Jack’s wife Angie phoned this morning and advised us of the following:  In her words, “things do not look good,” since Jack’s condition had not improved, and he remains on life support.  The last of Jack’s 3 sons, and also a younger sister, were expected to arrive in Evansville by this evening, and we trust that by now they have.      Continue reading “Jack McLamb Update: “Things do not look good””

Ammunition dealers haven’t been told by state police when they’ll need to conduct background checks to comply with the NY Secure Ammunition and Firearms Act, because a statewide records database needed to do so is still under construction.

North country dealers, who are already combating higher ammunition costs, say they are frustrated with how the state has left them in limbo about the background checks, which are expected to drive the already-steep price of ammunition even higher.   Continue reading “Lack of Timetable for Ammunition Background Checks Leaves New York Dealers in Limbo”

Liberty Fight – by Martin Hill

Stricken with bronchitis last month, I went to Walmart to pick up some medicine and alas, the first thing I saw was a motorcycle cop pulling over an old man in the Walmart parking lot. I guess this is the reward for buying our cheap Chinese slave goods. The man had made a left turn into the Walmart parking lot and was immediately stopped by an officer who wrote him a ticket for an illegal left turn. (You’d think they would put turn lanes in front of a Walmart?) Afterwards I went out and took some photos of the officer hiding in the bushes lying in wait for his next ‘customer.’ Video and photos of the cop are below. This was the Walmart located at Foothill Blvd. and Benson Ave in Upland, CA.   Continue reading “Walmart shoppers greeted by traffic tickets: Cops hiding in bushes ticket customers as they go in”

TPWD SCOUT TEAM DOING TRAING EXCERSICES AT CAMP BOWIE TRAING FACILITY.Lew Rockwell – by William Norman Grigg

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has a newly minted SWAT team. To be sure, the agency maintains that this “cadre of specialty teams” will focus on search-and-rescue missions. However, the way Game Warden Cullen Stakes is dressed in the photo above makes it pretty clear that he’s not getting ready to rescue people who have been stranded by floods, or have gotten lost in the woods.

Among the TPWD’s specialized units is the “Scout Team,” a group of 25 wardens who “have received a variety of training and can be used in border operations, dignitary protection, or any form of high-risk law enforcement, such as serving felony arrests or hostage situations,” explains Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine.   Continue reading “Texas Game Wardens Prepare for War”

Experts say no link to Fukushima.

Following reports of abnormally high radiation readings on a beach in San Francisco, experts have discovered radiation hot spots measuring 1,400 per cent above normal background levels, although they are keen to stress there is no link to Fukushima.

As we reported on Monday, after a viral video emerged showing a man recording measurements of over 150 micro-REM per hour, 500 per cent normal background radiation, on a beach south of Pillar Point Harbor, San Mateo County officials confirmed the spike but said they were “befuddled” as to the cause.    Continue reading “1400% Radiation Hot Spot Found on San Francisco Beach”

Dear caring friends of Jack McLamb,

This message requires no response, but is sent only to advise of a current situation, and to ask you to join with us in special prayer for Jack, and also for Angie.

Yesterday, Monday morning, Jack collapsed at home while Angie was assisting him in the shower. He was rushed to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana, and as of now, 24 hours later, Jack remains under intensive care. While it took paramedics only 7 minutes to arrive at the home where they administered CPR immediately, it is feared that Jack may have been without oxygen for a few intervening moments, and hence a concern about possible brain damage. Let us all hope and pray not.   Continue reading “Peace Officer Jack McLamb is in Intensive Care”
