Rescue crews are searching for survivors after a massive landslide of dirt, trees and rocks in rural Washington killed three people, injured at least eight others and destroyed six houses.
On June 27th, 2013 a team of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies executed a drug raid at the home of Eugene Mallory, killing him while he lay in his bed and yelling “drop the gun” immediately after they shot him. There were no drugs on Mallory’s property and the nearly deaf old man hadn’t been holding a gun. Continue reading “Cops Execute Old Man In His Bed, Find No Drugs”
If we think of them at all, we tend to think fondly of our Arizona Territory pioneers. In the shallow backwaters of our imagination, we apply common descriptive terms to their exploits as they settled the West. They were rugged, determined, courageous. But what does that mean in reality?
Most of what we know about their ruggedness, determination, and courage comes from Hollywood movies. We are so often exposed only to general, sanitized, sensationalized, or romanticized versions of pioneering. Think of the 1940 Western, Arizona, starring Jean Arthur and William Holden. Old Tucson was created to make this popular movie and the set played the part of the real Tucson ca. 1860. Continue reading “A Fate Worse Than Death: How Pennington Street Got Its Name”
Some people have all the luck. People in Connecticut, for example. The state cops say they’re coming for the guns. The matronly new chief says no, but the odious Lt. Paul Vance, the front man for the Sandy Hook lie factory, says it’s true and moreover, it’s un-American to oppose them in any way. Not only that: he said that he’s the master. What the hell did that mean?
Let’s say Chief Grandma thinks she’s not lying. If eighty percent of the people refuse to obey “the law,” what’s a gun cop to do? They know you’ve got an “illegal” rifle or magazine, they know where you live. Are they going to let it slide? Continue reading “What is their plan for us?”
MICHIGAN — Hundreds of thousands of parents have been flagged as “child abusers” in a huge database maintained in secret by Michigan’s Child Protective Services (CPS) agency. The names are entered into the database without due process, without a judicial hearing, without an opportunity for defense, without a conviction, and without even letting the individuals know they have been targeted.

In typical jackboot fashion, this “public servant” oozes tyrannical saliva as he flexes his mythical authority over an unsuspecting German tourist. This must have been an informed driver as he knew to pull out his camera and film this tyrant.
WASHINGTON — President Obama announced on Thursday that he is levying additional sanctions against 20 high-level Russian officials as well as a bank in response to Moscow’s move to annex the Crimea region of Ukraine.
Obama spoke just hours after Russia’s lower parliament ratified a treaty to make Crimea a part of the Russian Federation. Crimeans voted overwhelmingly in a hastily arranged referendum earlier this week to join Russia. Continue reading “Obama announces more sanctions against Russia”
The Interior Department is delaying a rule that would raise the penalties on offshore facilities that are responsible for oil spills amid pressure from industry groups.
The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) and National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) both wrote to the Interior Department requesting an extension of the comment period, which the agency granted Tuesday, so these groups will have more time to review and respond to the rule. NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – About half of American adults believe in at least one medical conspiracy theory, according to new survey results.
Some conspiracy theories have much more traction than others, however.
For example, three times as many people believe U.S. regulators prevent people from getting natural cures as believe that a U.S. spy agency infected a large number of African Americans with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
