The campaign to stop federal violations of the Second Amendment at the state and local level got two big boosts late last week with the introduction of the Second Amendment Preservation Act in Arizona and an important endorsement for a similar bill pending in Florida.

In a clear sign that all is not in harmony in the Democratic Party, several powerful groups of the Democratic base are organizing to block “fast track” authority for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The partnership – TPP – is a sweeping free-trade agreement the Obama administration is trying to push though Congress.

Here’s a pitch for a procedural: Cops track down the number of police shootings in the United States in a given year. Why should that require any detective work? It’s that there are currently no national statistics on how many people are shot by police each year.

In some areas, such as Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia and Massachusetts, police shootings have increased, according to a report in Salon. Whether those numbers can be extrapolated to a national trend is not known though. I smell trouble. The tribe is surely trying to focus attention on the superbowl. I’ll send more after this but this is what I found out concerning the ‘white powder’ being sent to the superbowl hotels and what-not. Certainly didn’t sit well with me.

There is evidence that Gov. Chris Christie knew of the George Washington Bridge access lane closings as they were happening, says a lawyer for the former port authority official blamed for the politically motivated incident, but Christie’s office denied the allegation.

To understand why the United States is the most incarcerated nation in the world, all aspects of the legal system must be scrutinized.  One of the least considered points of corruption is the crime lab.

On Tuesday, Rep. Teo Zagar (D-Windsor-4-1), along with co-sponsor Reps. We know, you’re wondering what the deal is with John Kerry’s black and blue face. Don’t worry, he was not beaten up. It’s simply an injury after a friendly pick-up hockey game with friends and family.

His aides did not give too many details on what happened, but the Massachusetts Democrat suffered two black eyes and a broken nose. The Washington Post reported that it wasn’t a stick or a puck that’s to blame for Kerry’s bruises.
