UPDATE 10 p.m.: The live stream that broadcast online what appears to be the last stage of the refuge occupation stopped after more than five hours. The phone feed ended as the occupiers headed to their night camp, preparing to surrender Thursday morning. They said they have a promise that the encircling FBI agents would leave them alone overnight.

BURNS – FBI agents in armored vehicles moved in Wednesday night on the last four occupiers at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, hemming them into their rough camp and insisting they put down their guns and surrender.   Continue reading “Oregon standoff: FBI moves in on last refuge occupiers”

A rare disease known as rabbit fever (also called tularemia) that was thought to have been largely conquered decades ago has made a resurgence in the U.S.

Health officials have only seen a yearly average of about 125 cases of rabbit fever, or tularemia, in the past 2 decades, but there have been 235 cases this year, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a report published Thursday. That’s the most cases reported in a year since 1984.   Continue reading “Potentially Deadly “Rabbit Fever” On The Rise”

The Centers for Disease Control and Preventionhas replaced its longtime director of national lab regulation in the wake of several high-profile incidents involving bioterror pathogens and an internal review that identified areas of improvement for the oversight program, USA TODAY has learned.

The CDC, in a statement Tuesday, declined to say why it replaced Robbin Weyant on Nov. 9 as director of the agency’s Division of Select Agents and Toxins, which regulates hundreds of U.S. labs working with the organisms that cause anthrax, plague, Ebola and other deadly diseases that are deemed to pose bioterror risks.   Continue reading “Top U.S. lab regulator replaced in wake of incidents with bioterror pathogens”

Nearly all the massacres and mass shooting that occur in Western countries are planned by US and Israeli elements in order to spread Islamophobia and justify attacking Muslims, an African American activist and speaker says.

The recent mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, where 14 people were killed and over a dozen others were injured is a “sad event” that is very similar to the terror attacks in Paris and 9/11, which were orchestrated by US and Israeli intelligence agencies, said Abdul Alim Musa, director of Masjid Al-Islam in Washington, DC and member of the Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought.   Continue reading “US, Israel orchestrate mass shootings to spread Islamophobia: Activist”

War came to the Western Range that April, a conflict pitting the forces of order and respectability against a restive band of extremists accused of cheating the government of what it was due. The prohibitively stronger side consisted of regulatory agencies allied with powerful non-governmental organizations determined to control the land and expel small private interests who made productive use of it. The unyielding demands of the political elite were met with the unflinching defiance of rural ranchers, leading to talk of a “range war.”   Continue reading “Ranchers vs. Regulators: The Clark County Range War”

“Freedom had been hunted round the globe; reason was considered as rebellion; and the slavery of fear had made men afraid to think. But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants, is the liberty of appearing.”  – Thomas Paine

The label of “fringe” is a common one used by statists, bureaucrats and paid shills in order to marginalize those who would stand against government corruption. The primary assertion being sold is that the “majority” joyously supports the establishment; and the majority, of course, is always right.   Continue reading “Liberty Movement Rising”
