House Bill 3115, which passed the Senate on Wednesday afternoon and is en route to Gov. Kate Brown’s desk, is a response to a 2018 landmark homelessness case that impacted most Western states with an intent to better support individuals experiencing homelessness.

For the first time in American history, a federal judge last week authorized the government to admit as evidence in a criminal case in a public courtroom words uttered by the defendant that were obtained under torture.
The fruits of torture – which is any cruel or degrading or intentionally painful or disorienting behavior visited upon a person in captivity to induce compliance or to gratify the torturer – are not permitted in any court in the United States, and their inducement is criminal. French is one of the three working languages used by the European Commission – the executive branch of the European Union. According to statistics, at least 80 percent of its officials speak French as a first, second or third language. However, of late, French has reportedly seen its prominence diminished in favour of English.
As France gears up to take over the rotating presidency of the European Union next year, President Emmanuel Macron is reportedly harbouring covert plans of replacing English with French at all EU meetings in Brussels, according to Politico. The Guardian piece by Raj Patel linking American sugar-crusted apple pie to the “vast and ongoing genocide of Indigenous people” is causing both fury and surprise among readers, who are questioning whether the popular dessert is next in line to be cancelled as “racist”. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began over a year ago, the US government has poured billions of your tax dollars into the vaccine program. More than $9 billion of your tax dollars were given to vaccine companies for research and $22 billion of your tax dollars were then used to support vaccine distribution. The feds also shelled out another $10 billion to expand access and currently announced $3 billion more to spend on an ad campaign to combat vaccine hesitancy.
