Running out of space to store water contaminated by fuel that escaped during the Fukushima meltdown, the Japanese government is preparing to release it into the Pacific Ocean – despite the presence of radioactive elements.

Currently, 1.09 million tons of contaminated water is stored in 900 tanks near the Dai-Ichi nuclear plant, which suffered a catastrophic release of fuel following an earthquake and tsunami in March 2011. The US Army confirmed that some of its soldiers stationed in Poland are being investigated for an altercation, in which they reportedly assaulted a local dentist and his two sons in front of other family members.

The incident happened two weeks ago on Friday night in the western Polish town of Skwierzyna, one of several hosting US troops. A dramatic first report by Polish tabloid Super Express said three Americans got into a fight after trying to force their way into an apartment building. Dennis Hof, the owner of the Nevada brothel where Lamar Odom was found unconscious from a drug overdose three years ago, has died. He was 72.

The US Marines are developing a new laser weapon that can transmit voice messages at long range, or be turned up to deafen, dazzle or even kill.

The Scalable Compact Ultra-short Pulse Laser System (SCUPLS) will be mounted on a truck or tank.

Dozens of Palestinian students have been injured after armed Israeli settlers and soldiers raided a high school in the occupied West Bank, a report says.
