With scant public notice, federal immigration officials are relying on databases run by foreign police and militaries to check whether migrants crossing the United States border have gang affiliations, which would allow officials to detain and eventually deport them.

A bill signed into law Monday by North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) will allow prosecutors to charge drug dealers with second-degree murder in cases involving deaths from drug overdose.

African migrants are expressing frustration over the Trump administration’s metering policy, which caps the number of asylum seekers who can enter the U.S. each day.
“We are not happy with the U.S. system, especially for the fact that you see that the number is not moving. Very few people are taken,” Luis, a migrant from Cameroon, said to the Los Angeles Times. “If you see people jumping over the river, it is because they are tired of staying here.”
The House will vote as early as Tuesday on a bill that would give wealthy Chinese lenders a fast-track to American green cards and citizenship.

Zoe Lofgren’s bill — The Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019 — is co-sponsored by more than 100 GOP legislators, and it helps Chinese lenders by eliminating the pro-diversity rules in the EB-5 “Golden Visa” program. On Sunday, the sentence “Epstein flrew Bill Clinton, Kevin Spacey, and Chris Tucker to Africa in his private jet. Former President Bill Clinton said he “knew nothing” of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking, according to a statement issued Monday.
Epstein was arrested Saturday and charged with sex trafficking minors between 2002 and 2005. He spent time behind bars in 2008 after pleading guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution. Georgia cops Monday were hunting the “armed and dangerous” accomplices involved in the shooting death of a sheriff’s deputy Sunday night.
The unidentified Hall County deputy was trying to stop a stolen vehicle around 11 p.m. when he was fatally shot in an exchange that also wounded the alleged gunman, WSB-TV reported. The World Jewish Congress is pushing US lawmakers to make Holocaust education mandatory in all schools, citing statistics from a 2018 poll revealing half of millennials can’t name a single Nazi concentration camp.
The WJC started a petition calling on Congress to “make Holocaust education mandatory in every school in the United States,” that has garnered 8,500 signatures so far. Acting United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Ken Cuccinelli says the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is ready to deport about a million illegal aliens who remain in the country despite having final orders for deportation.
During an interview with CBS News on Sunday, Cuccinelli said despite a delay of mass deportations by President Trump two weeks ago, ICE agents are ready to detain and deport the roughly one million illegal aliens who have been ordered deported from the country. Detroit-based rapper Tiny Jag pulled out of a Detroit, MI music festival this week after she learned that white concert-goers would be charged a higher price than people of color.
Jag, also known as Jillian Graham, told the Detroit Metro Times that she found out about AfroFuture Fest’s pay model when a white friend reached out to her and sent her a screenshot via Instagram that outlined the pay difference. The early bird POC (“people of color”) ticket was $10 while the early bird “non-POC” ticket cost $20. A woman in Lufkin, Texas, walked into her local Walmart, opened a container of Blue Bell, licked the ice cream and then put the container back in the freezer. Now, she faces up to 20 years in prison.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Hundreds of federal police blocked highways in and around Mexico’s capital Wednesday in open revolt against plans to absorb the officers into the newly formed National Guard, a move that the police fear could upend their jobs.
The protests came as the government officially began deploying the National Guard to try to seal the country’s porous southern border and control immigration and crime. The demonstrations threatened to complicate the formation of the new force, which President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has bet Mexico’s future security on.
