Baltimore Police didn’t bother to inform the public (or anyone, for that matter) when they implemented a privately-funded mass surveillance program in January using a wide-angle camera-equipped plane flying above the city — which instantly uploaded and stored everything it recorded, just in case they needed it later.

The U.S. government has shipped over 1.4 million guns to Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11, according a new analysis by the U.K.-based watchdog Action on Armed Violence (AOAV), but the Pentagon is only able to account for fewer than half of them.

AOAV released its analysis of publicly available data on U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracts on Wednesday, and added that when requested to provide its own accounting for the small arms provided to the war-torn nations, “the DoD data shows that over 700,000 small arms were sent from the U.S. to Iraq and Afghanistan within these periods. The U.S. Army has pulled a slide from a training presentation that described Hillary Clinton as an “insider” threat to national security.

The slide, which was used in a PowerPoint presentation at Missouri’s Fort Leonard Wood, included the image of the Democratic nominee alongside pictures of disgraced retired Gen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is slamming an Associated Press report that more than half the people outside government that she met with while she was secretary of state donated to the Clinton Foundation.

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) – A U.S. district judge on Monday denied a motion from three University of Texas professors who wanted to ban guns in their classroom after the state gave some students that right under a law then went into effect this month.

The professors had argued academic freedom could be chilled under the so-called “campus carry” law backed by the state’s Republican political leaders. Last Thursday, the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) made the shocking statement that it will no longer use private prisons to incarcerate federal prisoners, saying they are less safe and less effective than government-run facilities.

An investigation into 10 recent Chicago criminal cases unearthed the extraordinary reach of the state’s “felony murder rule,” which is being used to cover up police crime, as well as prosecute and incarcerate the innocent, according to a report.

Over the last few years, I’ve received quite a few e-mails regarding Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, a web series involving puppets and a whole lot of creepiness. VC readers astutely identified symbols and messages in the videos that pointed towards a deeper and more disturbing meaning. WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge on Friday ordered Hillary Clinton to answer questions in writing from a conservative legal advocacy group about her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.

U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan issued the order as part of a long-running public records lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch.
