New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D) wants to significantly increase the cost of owning a gun in the state – proposing fees that would be among the highest in the country, according to the New York Times.
Currently, a firearm identification costs $5, a permit to own a gun $2, and a permit to carry a gun costs just $20. Murphy wants to raise that to $100 for the ID, $50 to own a gun and $400 to carry. Israeli soldiers shot a handcuffed and blindfolded Palestinian teenager who was attempting to flee after being detained for suspected stone-throwing in the West Bank on Thursday.
The minor was detained by the Israeli forces after he had been shot, but was later evacuated by Palestinians to receive medical treatment at Beit Jala near Bethlehem. Bucks County, PA — An unidentified officer, who pulled his gun and shot an unarmed man inside a jail cell last month was allowed to retire and found out this week that he will not be charged. This decision by the District Attorney is in spite of the fact that the shooting was captured on video and the officer broke multiple department policies.
Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub announced Friday that the officer is going to be free from criminal prosecution for shooting Brian Riling, 38, in the abdomen on March 3. The Department of Homeland Security is considering classifying fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction, or WMD, according to an internal memo attained by military news outlet Task & Purpose.

The Trump administration has released a controversial new US government map of Israel that shows the Golan Heights in Syria as being part of Israel, much to the outrage of many online.
Special envoy to the Middle East, Jason Greenblatt, shared the updated map on Twitter on Tuesday. Israel occupied the Syrian region in the 1967 Six Day War and later annexed it in 1981 in a move that was not recognized by the international community or the UN Security Council. A Palestinian family was forced to flee under a barrage of stones when an angry mob of Israeli settlers stormed the village during tension in the West Bank. None of them were detained, human rights groups say.
Human rights groups Yesh Din and B’Tselem said that around 50 Israeli settlers from Yitzhar in the West Bank entered the neighboring Palestinian village of Urif on Saturday, smashing windows of cars and hurling stones at houses. The Trump administration has agreed to allow approximately 2,700 children living in Central America to be reunited with their parents in the United States under a court settlement announced on Friday, according to court documents.
The settlement follows a lawsuit that challenged a decision in 2017 by President Donald Trump’s administration to shut down a program that allowed children living in Central America to be reunited with parents residing legally in the United States.
