In another stellar move by the police in Georgia, a deputy was trying to shoot a dog, he claimed was charging him and instead, ended up shooting a 10 year old boy in the leg. The boy will not require surgery. Here’s what happened: Coffee County Sheriff Doyle Wooten confirmed that the boy, identified as Dakota Corbitt, was shot. Corbitt was taken to Savannah Memorial Hospital for surgery, but his mother said further examination revealed the bullet did not damage any major arteries. The bullet entered from the back of the knee and exited out of the front of the child’s leg. Corbitt was expected to return to Coffee County early Friday evening. The boy was shot during the arrest of 19-year-old Christopher Barnett. According to investigators, Barnett is believed to be the person who shot a Douglas Police Officer earlier Thursday morning. He is also believed to have been involved in an Armed Robbery that occurred at Flash Foods in the City of Douglas prior to the officer being shot. During the US State Department’s daily press briefing this morning, spokesperson Jen Psaki was asked whether Palestinians in Gaza have a right to defend themselves against Israeli aggression. As of this writing, Israeli bombing has killed more than fifty Palestinians since Monday, including more than a dozen children, and injured an additional 450 in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Psaki responded by feigning confusion and deflecting the question. The question was posed after Psaki repeatedly invoked Israel’s right to defend itself from Hamas rocket fire. Continue reading “US State Department rejects Gaza’s right to self-defense from Israeli aggression”

President Obama has officially asked for $3.7 billion in emergency funding to handle the tens of thousands of Central American children who’ve showed up unaccompanied at the U.S.-Mexico border seeking entry and support.
According to the Washington Post, “Administration officials said the request is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at building more detention centers, adding immigration judges, and beefing up border patrols and air surveillance.” Detention facilities would be set-up in border areas, where temporary facilities are now being controversially used to house immigrants. Detroit activists concerned about the massive water shutoffs across the economically devastated city blocked entrances into the yard of Homrich, a firm given a nearly $6 million contract to terminate services for hundreds of thousands of people. The firm was hired by emergency manager Kevyn Orr, who was appointed by right-wing Gov. Rick Snyder in March 2013, who later forced the city into the largest municipal bankruptcy in United States history a year ago.
Protesters were taken into custody and charged with disturbing the peace. A hearing was set for July 21.A picket line set up before 7:00 a.m. on July 10 blocked the entrance to Homrich for over an hour. Eventually police arrived and attempted to force demonstrators out of the driveway, prompting resistance leading to 10 arrests. LOS ANGELES — Drivers in a long-running labor dispute with three trucking companies at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach began what they said would be an indefinite strike Monday.
The impact on the movement of cargo around the sprawling port complex, the main gateway for hundreds of billions of dollars of trade with Asia, was limited in the strike’s first hours. But the threat of a broader disruption loomed if striking truckers take their pickets from offices of their employers to the dockside terminals where ships are loaded and unloaded. A Texas man accused of killing six people, including four children, was turned away by a teenager when he first went to the victims’ home, but he returned a short time later, kicked in the door, tied up the family and then shot them in the head execution style, according to court testimony today.
Ron Haskell, 33, was charged with capital murder following his arrest after a long standoff with police in Spring, Texas.
The carnage ended when a wounded 15-year-old girl called 911 and alerted police to the shooting and said that the gunman was on his way to shoot her grandparents, police said. Cops intercepted Haskell, who was related to the victims, and took him into custody following a tense standoff. Continue reading “Texas Shooter Kicked in Door, Tied Up Kids, Executed Them”

A highly concerning new study published in the journal Biomedical Research International reveals that despite the still relatively benign reputation of agrochemicals such as Roundup herbicide, many chemical formulations upon which the modern agricultural system depend are far more toxic than present regulatory tests performed on them reveal. Roundup herbicide, for instance, was found to be 125 times more toxic than its active ingredient glyphosate studied in isolation.
Titled, “Major pesticides are more toxic to human cells than their declared active principles,” the study evaluated to what extent the active principle (AP) and the so-called ‘inert ingredients,’ i.e. adjuvants, in globally popular formulations account for the toxicity of 9 major pesticides: 3 herbicides, 3 insecticides, and 3 fungicides.
