Whether you are prepping for the zombie apocalypse or the aftermath of a hurricane, self-defense is an important aspect of surviving any disaster.  Everyone has their preference as to what qualifies as the best survival weapon. History has proven the rifle to be the best all-purpose firearm to face a variety of combat and self-defense scenarios.

However, a rifle should only be part of what many preppers refer to as a layered defense system.  It doesn’t matter if you are bugging out or sheltering, your need to arm yourself with a variety of weaponry, self-defense skills and training is the same.  With that said, if you could have only one firearm in a survival situation it should be a quality rifle.   Continue reading “The Top 6 Survival Rifles and Why You Need One”

One of the primary fear cards prohibitionists play to delay the inevitable re-legalization of cannabis is something I call WATC (rhymes with “Yahtzee®”), which stands for “What About The Children?!?” The inference is that legalizing marijuana would expose children to more danger than the current system of unlicensed dealers who don’t check ID. Next thing you know, we’ll have a nation full of red-eyed teenagers dropping out of school, roaming the streets like pot zombies in search of strains, strains!   Continue reading “Increase in US Marijuana Use Tied to Older Americans, Teen Use Flatlining”

Although much of the gun control push under President Obama has failed to result in new laws, it has succeeded in creating a new tradition where shoppers scoop up guns on Black Friday so they can place them under the tree on Christmas Day.

Consider the numbers: in 2008, ABC News reported 97,848 background checks on Black Friday. In 2009, the numbers remained somewhat static but then began to grow exponentially as the Obama administration and Congressional Democrats began to flex their muscles.  By 2011, there were 129,166 background checks on Black Friday alone.   Continue reading “Buying Guns On Black Friday Becomes Tradition Under Obama”

Drug trafficking, gang wars, political instability, corruption, and poverty have combined to make Latin America by far the most homicidal region of the world.

The region has 40% of the world’s murders, despite having only 8 percent of the population, according to the U.N.

The highest murder rate of all is in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, with 169 homicides per 100,000 people, according to a study published earlier this year by Mexico’s Citizens’ Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice. The ranking is based on 2012 data, except for San Pedro Sula and Distrito Central in Honduras, where authorities would not cooperate and 2011 data was used.    Continue reading “The 50 Most Violent Cities In The World”

The OPCW is now claiming they have a “technically feasible” plan to dump chemical weapons into the Mediterranean Sea reports say.

In what can only be described as a really bad idea, the organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is planning to destroy at least 1000 tones of the confiscated Syrian chemical weapon stockpile out at sea, which some fear will destroy delicate eco systems vital to sea and human life alike.    Continue reading “Sea Hosting 100-Million Year-Old Species to be Site of Syrian Chemical Weapons Stockpile Dump”
