oogle said a year ago it would stop its computers from scanning the inboxes of Gmail users for information to personalize advertisements, saying it wanted users to “remain confident that Google will keep privacy and security paramount.”
But the internet giant continues to let hundreds of outside software developers scan the inboxes of millions of Gmail users who signed up for email-based services offering shopping price comparisons, automated travel-itinerary planners or other tools. Google does little to police those developers, who train their computers—and, in some cases, employees—to read their users’ emails, a Wall Street Journal examination has found. New Jersey Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy reportedly is proposing major hikes in gun-permit and licensing fees that include, for instance, a 2,400% increase in the permit fee for a handgun, from $2 to $50, reported NJ.com.

As if you needed one more reason to avoid Target after they decided men can use their women’s bathrooms and changing areas, they’ve doubled down on the feel-good virtue-signaling cause du jour that is Pride Month. Yes, it’s that wonderful time of year when your Main Street is overrun with floating dildos and guys wearing half-pants and walking other men on leashes to prove that the gay community is just like us proud of themselves or something.
I always thought embracing the vice of “pride” as a motto was risky. It’s one of the seven deadly sins, after all. Justice, Illinois – Body camera footage has been posted online from a disturbing incident in which a police officer grabbed a woman’s cell phone out of her hand and threw it on the ground and then proceeded to arrest her for the crime of filming police for accountability and transparency.
The video footage was published on YouTube by the activist “ChiTown Sue,” who routinely posts videos of First Amendment audits and police confrontations. The video from her point of view began as she approached Officer T. Demella, who was walking through her neighborhood, and asked him if he needed help. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WSVN) — Police say a man who tried to carjack two people was thwarted after the victims both pulled out guns to protect themselves.
According to Fox 30, Jacksonville police officers arrested 36-year-old Christopher Raymond Hill, charging him with strong-arm robbery, carjacking with firearm or deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and trespassing. The federal government collected a record $1,143,141,000,000 in individual income taxes through the first eight months of fiscal 2018 (Oct. 1, 2017 through the end of May), according to the Monthly Treasury Statement released today.

Mega-pastor Joel Osteen may not know theology very well, but he sure knows how to rake in the bucks. To put it another way, Osteen is an expert at getting your down-on-their-luck relatives to hand over their money to his “ministry.” The proof is in the pudding, so they say, because the Houston Chronicle is reporting that Lakewood Church’s annual budget is around 90 million dollars a year.
Lakewood Church’s fiscal budget was revealed during the newspaper’s series titled “The Preacher’s Son.” The series “explores the origins and spectacular growth of Houston’s Lakewood Church under pastor Joel Osteen.” However, the Chronicleand writer Katherine Blunt decided to run a separate piece breaking down the church’s budget. Last week in his valedictory address, retiring Luton Crown Court Judge Nic Madge spoke of his concern that carrying a knife had become routine in some circles and called on the Government to ban the sale of large pointed kitchen knives. According to a ruling by U.S. district judge John Ross in St. Louis, Missouri, governments can require a people to make themselves sick. More specifically, a local ordinance that requires planting grass, to which a St. Peters, Mo. woman is allergic, does not violate a “fundamental right.” Thus, judge John Ross granted a summary judgment sought by the City of St. Peters and ruled against a federal lawsuit brought by Jan and Carl Duffner, who must now devote half of their lot to cultivating a plant that makes them ill.
