The Genetic Nondiscrimination Act of 2003 (S. 1053) was passed unanimously by the senate supposedly prohibiting discrimination in employment or job promotion on the basis of genetic information and/or family history. Exempted was the right of employers test for work associated hazards. In addition it prohibits insurance companies from using genetic information or family history in determining who it will insure or what rates an individual or family will pay for coverage. This rule amendment aims to facilitate a massive deployment of 5G networks (mainly broadband – but also voice services). Residents of a Massachusetts neighborhood have been reporting significant as well as life-threatening health issues ever since a Verizon cell tower was activated near their homes. Some members of the Federal Reserve are continuing to explore the launch of its own digital dollar, as the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston on Thursday unveiled its first attempt at designing an electronic form of cash.
The Boston bank’s research, conducted in a collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, does not offer a recommendation about whether the Fed should create its own digital currency. The central bank’s leaders in Washington are in the process of collecting public feedback on that question now, and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. In a move many parents are certain to applaud, Pfizer on Tuesday asked federal regulators to allow emergency use of its vaccine to protect children ages 6 months through 4 years against COVID-19.
