The detection of a small amount of genetically modified material in a Washington state farmer’s non-GMO alfalfa crop constitutes a “commercial issue” only and does not warrant any government action, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said on Tuesday.

The Washington state farmer had complained in late August to state agricultural officials that his alfalfa hay had been rejected for export sale because of the presence of a genetically modified trait that makes the crop resistant to herbicide.   Continue reading “USDA will not take action in case of GMO alfalfa contamination”

New Hampshire legislators are deliberating House Bill 660, a bill requiring labeling of foods containing genetically engineered ingredients. New Hampshire is one of 26 states considering mandatory GMO labeling. Maine and Connecticut have already approved it with contingencies. And in Washington, D.C., the Just Label It campaign and others have garnered 1.3 million signatures demanding the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approve federal labeling, the largest number of citizens to ever comment on any FDA regulation. National polls show that 92 percent of Americans support labeling, with no significant difference among Republicans, Democrats and independents.   Continue reading “Consumers have a right to this information”

BERNE, Switzerland — Neue Zürcher Zeitung NZZ was in possession of four data tapes that apparently originated from Swisscom’s data centres, the editorial office has informed the company. The records concerned are apparently backup files from 2008 to 2010 containing internal Swisscom data, including e-mails. It is still not clear to Swisscom whether customer data are also stored on these data carriers. Three tapes have already been returned to Swisscom and are in the process of being analysed. Data security takes top priority at Swisscom. As a result, the company immediately instigated legal proceedings against persons unknown and informed the Federal Data Protection Commissioner about the incident. Swisscom is doing its utmost to clarify the incident as fast as possible. It is currently assumed that it was motivated by criminal intent.   Continue reading “Swisscom Admits Data Security Breach”

WASHINGTON — A fight over whether to shut down the government unless the Affordable Care Act is defunded continued on Thursday, 1 day after Republicans released their plan for replacing the 2010 health law.

The Republican Study Committee (RSC) on Wednesday released the American Health Care Reform Act, which ties many GOP-fostered ideas into a 181-page bill. The Republican-controlled House is expected to vote Friday on a “stop-gap” measure that would fund the government for a few months but would also defund the ACA.   Continue reading “Healthcare Key to Government Shutdown”

The earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011 and left the Fukushima power plant damaged and leaking radiation into the environment seems to have faded into the past, but the dangers to the environment and human health are far from over, with the latest leak of highly radioactive water being described by the plant operators, TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Co), as a serious radiation incident.    Continue reading “As Fukushima continues to leak radiation, protect yourself with Bentonite Clay”

Imagine one ring, rather, one bracelet to rule them all, allowing you to leave your keys and wallet at home and banish lengthy, character-filled passwords from your mind.

That’s what the Nymi bracelet would let users do. But what if someone took your bracelet, would your valuables be vulnerable?

Not likely because the keycode Nymi uses to unlock your car, log on to your computer and pay for your groceries is your own unique heartbeat.    Continue reading “This Bracelet Lets You Forget Your Keys, Wallet, Passwords… Uses Your Heartbeat Instead”

Obama’s first electoral campaign was “Change”. The democratic candidate has come after George W. Bush who led two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bush’s era costed the American people a lot. Not only Soldiers were returned home in coffins, but also the war costed the US treasury trillions of Dollars.

The main aim of Iraq’s invasion was acquiring the country’s oil and the US-British alliance succeeded to obtain the oil via Exxon Mobil, British Petroleum and Shell, but this huge wealth is actually pumped for Petroleum companies.   Continue reading “Obama in trouble!”

Sherrie Questioning All

Obama is saying the U.S. will strike Syria.   But he did just say he will go ahead and get Congressional Approval for the war.  He proclaimed he didn’t need Congress’s approval but will go ahead and get it.

He spewed a lot of rhetoric full of LIES!   He forgot to mention how many times the U.S. has poisoned others and murdered others through chemical and biological weapons.  He didn’t mention the depleted uranium we have spread around Iraq.  The poisons that are sprayed in our air every day with chemtrails, poison of our water with fluoride and our food with GMO.   Continue reading “Obama Saying the U.S WILL STRIKE Syria because it is a National Security Issue, but will get Congressional Approval – Assad committed the Chemical Attack”

President Barack Obama says the US should take military action against Syria and he will seek congressional authorisation for intervention.

The US says the Syrian government carried out chemical weapons attacks on 21 August in which 1,429 people died.

Mr Obama said the operation would be limited in duration and strong to deter future chemical attacks. Congress is due to reconvene on 9 September.   Continue reading “Obama to seek Congress vote on Syria military action”

A team of U.N. investigators has finished gathering evidence related to a suspected chemical weapons attack that killed hundreds of people in suburbs near Damascus last week, but will need time to complete its analysis, the world body said on Friday.

The announcement the U.N. inspectors will not be releasing their findings immediately came as Washington suggested the U.N. investigation would have no bearing on its decision about whether to attack Syria in retaliation for the alleged poison gas attack on civilians.   Continue reading “U.N. experts prepare to leave Syria, chemical probe needs time”

It’s been a year since the US Supreme Court delivered its surprising 2-part decision on the Affordable Care Act, and physicians are just beginning to feel the effects.

While the justices upheld the individual mandate to buy health insurance, they weakened the ACA’s plans to expand Medicaid by some 16 million people. The June 28, 2012, decision ruled that the federal government could not force states to accept the Medicaid expansion.   Continue reading “Supreme Court ACA Ruling at 1 Year: Many States Fleeing Medicaid Expansion”

GOP USA – by Doug Patton

As I listened to the convoluted legal gobbledygook passing for erudite Constitutional expertise from the United States Supreme Court as they attempted to justify same sex marriage, my mind was flooded with the haunting words of some of the great men of history.

I thought of Aristotle, who said, “Political society exists for the sake of noble living,” a sentiment chiseled into the edifice of many a public building, including the south face of the state capitol building in Lincoln, Nebraska.   Continue reading “America Has Ceased to be Great or Good”
