Tens of thousands of people have turned out for the funeral of a Turkish boy who died nine months after being hit by a police teargas canister during anti-government protests.

The death on Tuesday of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan after a long coma sparked violent clashes between protesters and riot police across the country.

Congressman Frank Lucas, March 5, 2014

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Lucas today made the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4118, the SIMPLE Fairness Act. This legislation passed the House today with a 250 to 160 vote.

“As Americans continue to struggle with President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, it is important that we continue to work in Congress to provide relief from the flawed law,” said Lucas. “The Administration has already admitted the law is unworkable and delayed the employer mandate for a year. Now, it is time to provide the same relief for American families and individuals, and I am pleased the House passed the SIMPLE Fairness Act to help accomplish this goal.   Continue reading “Lucas Statement on H.R. 4118, the SIMPLE Fairness Act”

Twenty-seven Democrats on Wednesday sided with House Republicans on a bill to delay tax penalties for failing to buy health insurance this year under ObamaCare.

The vote, which reflects growing Republican frustration with President Obama’s selective implementation of the law, again shows some level of Democratic support for a legislative change to the law. Several House bills aimed at making the health law more transparent have also received support from a few dozen Democrats.   Continue reading “27 Democrats support House GOP measure to delay ObamaCare penalty”

Gun Owners of America

At GOA’s request, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has bypassed Harry Reid’s stranglehold on the Senate by bringing a pro-gun bill directly onto the Senate calendar.

The bill is H.R. 4118, and it was approved by the House of Representatives on Wednesday by a 250-160 vote.  (See the vote here, with “Yea” being the pro-gun vote.)  The bill would suspend the individual mandate of the anti-gun ObamaCare program for one year, thus protecting the privacy of gun owners.   Continue reading “Gun Owners Prepare to Seize Senate from Harry Reid”

Aesop’s Fables

An ass, having put on the Lion’s skin, roamed about in the forest and amused himself by frightening all the foolish animals he met in his wanderings. At last coming upon a Fox, he tried to frighten him also, but the Fox no sooner heard the sound of his voice than he exclaimed, “I might possibly have been frightened myself, if I had not heard your bray.”

Clothes may disguise a fool, but his words will give him away.

George Washington warned against “foreign entanglements.”  Was it because he had a premonition of the cluelessness and ineptitude of his successors in the Bush years and in the Age of Obama?

If so, the Bush-Cheney – now Obama — War on Terror shows how right he was.  It might as well have been concocted deliberately to encourage Islamists to attack Western targets.  The ill will it has created will be a factor in world politics for generations to come.   Continue reading “Crimea, This Time”

A Ukrainian presidential hopeful and his supporters have abducted a regional MP over his opposition to the coup-imposed government in Kiev. A video of the action shows the MP being roughed up by a group of men and threatened.

Over the decades various administrations, seeking to improve their economic record, monkeyed with economic statistics to the point that the statistics are no longer meaningful.

According to Friday’s (March 7) payroll jobs report, the US economy created 175,000 new jobs in February. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I’ll let you have at a good price.   Continue reading “No Jobs, No Economy, No Prospects For Peace Or Life”

Today RT America anchor Liz Wahl resigned on air, claiming she disagrees with the channel’s editorial stance. And here’s what I have to say about it.

These days it takes a lot of courage to work for RT. Never before have I seen RT and its journalists bullied like this. See for yourselves what they did to poor Abby. First, she openly voiced disagreement with Russia’s stance on air – and was virtually made an American hero. But then Abby reminded everyone how much she disagrees with America’s stance as well, adding she takes pride in working at RT, where she is free to express her views. “An extraordinary work by a gifted filmmaker, “Counter-Intelligence” shines sunlight into the darkest crevices of empire run amok. The film vividly exposes a monstrous and unconstitutional “deep state” in which multiple competing chains of command — all but one illegal — hijack government capabilities and taxpayer funds to commit crimes against humanity in our name. Anyone who cares about democracy, good government, and the future will want to watch all five segments of this remarkable film.” – Robert David STEELE Vivas: CIA, USMC, OSS, Earth Intelligence Network and Founder, Phi Beta Iota the Public Intelligence Blog   Continue reading “Counter Intelligence : The Deep State”

Serbia’s Srdja Popovic is known by many as a leading architect of regime changes in Eastern Europe and elsewhere since the late-1990s, and as one of the co-founders of Otpor!, the U.S.-funded Serbian activist group which overthrew Slobodan Milošević in 2000.

Lesser known, an exclusive Occupy.com investigation reveals that Popovic and the Otpor! offshoot CANVAS (Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies) have also maintained close ties with a Goldman Sachs executive and the private intelligence firm Stratfor (Strategic Forecasting, Inc.), as well as the U.S. government. Popovic’s wife also worked at Stratfor for a year.   Continue reading “Exposed: Globally Renowned Activist Srdja Popovic Collaborated With Intelligence Firm Stratfor”

New Edward Snowden leaks have surfaced showing us how American intelligence agencies are attempting to manipulate and control online behavior even going to the extremes of setting people up using what the  GCHQ calls ”Honey Traps“. They then go on to force you into behavior you may not otherwise of been in and use the information to discredit American patriots who oppose the current establishment.

Glenn Greenwald who leaked the information has stated:   Continue reading “New Snowden Leak: Documents Expose Government False Flag Internet Strategy”

Yet another scandalous wiretap has been leaked on the internet, this one allegedly including a conversation between the Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the 75 year old business magnate Erdoğan Demirören. The tape is more evidence of the PM’s willingness to bully media bosses into censoring any news which does he does not deem acceptable. In this case, Erdoğan very strongly complains about a news story in Demirören’s daily Milliyet newspaper from 28 February 2013, which revealed details of the negotiation process between PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and the state.   Continue reading “Leaked: Erdoğan Bullies Media Boss to Tears”

Crisis in UkrainePress TV

The irony could not be more bitter – or sickening. US Secretary of State John was photographed laying wreaths in Kiev this week and offering “heartfelt” condolences for those killed during recent violent street clashes in the Ukrainian capital.

It now turns out that the killing of protesters and police officers was carried out by covert snipers working for the new Western-backed junta that seized power in Kiev. Kerry was thus laying flowers in memory of victims who were shot on the orders of the very people whom the West has been sponsoring.   Continue reading “Snipers for US regime change in Ukraine”
