Body camera footage has been made public, which shows the chasing of and the shots that killed Thurman Blevins, an African American whose death in June led to mass protests in Minneapolis.

Mexican authorities are looking into the lynching of four suspected burglars in the coastal state of Tabasco. Three victims were allegedly beaten and hanged, while the fourth was dragged from a moving vehicle by neighbors in the tourist town of Macuspana. One of the victims was a 16-year-old. The Seattle City Council passed an ordiance proposed by Mayor Jenny Durkan (D) requiring gun owners to place their firearms in a “locked container” in their own home.
The Seattle Times reports that the ordiance makes it “a civil infraction to store a gun without the firearm being secured in a locked container.” The penalties for violating the law vary, depending on whether a gun that was improperly stored is used in a crime. Two New Jersey State Troopers showed up at Leonard Cottrell Jr.’s home to confiscate his guns and he told them no.
Cottrell served three tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and is a disabled vet.

A sergeant in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Houston was treated for exposure to fentanyl after he touched a flyer left on the windshield of his car.
Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said someone placed flyers on the windshields of patrol cars parked outside the sheriff’s office recruiting center in downtown Houston, the Houston Chronicle reported. A firefighter responding to an explosion at a retirement home in Long Beach has been fatally shot by a senior resident of the facility, who also injured two more people in what authorities believe to be a planned ambush.
Just before 4:00 am Monday morning, an explosion rocked the Covenant Manor affordable senior housing facility in Long Beach, California. Responding to the scene, firefighters discovered a raging fire at the 11-story building, with windows blown out and sprinklers activated. After quickly putting out the flames on the second floor, Long Beach Fire Department officers went on to inspect the building after smelling gasoline. Farmer Jeffrey Scott Kirschenmann tried to register an AR-15 with the state per California’s latest “assault weapons” ban requirements and ended up having his home raided, firearms confiscated, and faces 12 felony counts.
Kirschermann was trying to comply with the June 30, 2018, deadline to register all “assault weapons” in the state and became snared by the flurry of laws instituted by CA Democrats over the past few years. WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) – The FBI and Honolulu police are investigating after finding a large cache of loaded weapons during a raid of a Waikiki hotel room that sources say was prompted by disturbing posts on social media.

Cops raiding a Queens home Thursday found a small arsenal of guns and ammo.
Officers hauled off 16 rifles, a crossbow and 13,000 rounds of ammunition around 9:34 a.m. from the Queens Village house of Keith Harvey, 44, a contractor.
Bullets were packed into metal military-like ammo boxes or still in the original packaging.

Nikolas Cruz, who is accused of killing 17 people in a high school shooting in February, has been inundated with sexually provocative letters and money from besotted fans, according to a local newspaper.
Teenage girls and women have bombarded 19-year-old Cruz, who is currently being held in Broward County jail, with romantic and sexually-explicit mail, according to local newspaper the Sun Sentinel, which obtained photocopies of the letters. Rep. Danny K. Davis (D-IL) is pushing legislation to place a 20 percent tax on guns and a 50 percent tax on ammunition.
The legislation is titled the “Gun Violence Prevention and Safe Communities Act of 2018.”
The act amends the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, so as to require a 20 percent tax on “pistols,” “revolvers,” “firearms (other than pistols and revolvers),” and “any lower frame or receiver for a firearm, whether for a semiautomatic pistol, rifle, or shotgun that is designed to accommodate interchangeable upper receivers.” Continue reading “Democrat Rep. Ranchers and farmers in North Texas are angered over the prospect of losing their land and homes through an eminent domain taking for a new reservoir. One rancher estimates that 200 people will lose their property while the water will go to the Dallas area.
For the first time in nearly 20 years, a new water reservoir will be built in North Texas. Officials with the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) claim the Bois d’Arc Creek Reservoir will provide water for 1.7 million people, Paul Cobler reported for KERA News and the Texas Tribune. Critics point out the water will not be used for the rural counties in North Texas but will instead be piped to the rapidly growing Metroplex.
