A tense confrontation ensued on Sunday between police and a crowd of dirt bike riders and spectators. One of the officers escalated things to a ridiculous level when he pulled his gun and began aiming it towards the crowd of onlookers.
The incident was captured by City Paper photographer Noah Scialom, and posted to his Instagram.
Scialom wrote, for the caption of the image, “On the left side of the frame, the officer pulled out his service weapon, yelling while he waved the gun around, and what you can’t see is that he’s pointing it in the direction of a fairly sizable group of people on the hillside of Druid Park, after a glass bottle had been thrown at the group of police officers and shattered on the ground. Another officer immediately told him to put his fucking gun away.”
The Baltimore Sun reports that the police harassment of dirt bike riders and onlookers every Sunday is starting to become a weekly ritual. Dirt bike enthusiasts gather to perform and show the skills of local riders.
Maj. Marc Partee, the Northwest District police commander, melodramatically said that the dirt bike enthusiasts are a “scourge” that need to be stopped.
“What I really would like to talk about is the danger that this reckless sport, as some would call it, is posing to the community,” Partee stated. “I would also encourage the community to continue to call, to continue to email, and let us know if they see these dirt bikes being stored inhomes and sheds and things of that nature. A number of these dirt bikes are stolen, and they pose a very immediate and extreme danger to the community.”
Scialom explained to City Paper that “overall,” he believed the police “handled it well,” even though some of them showed up in riot gear.
The one officer “was the only guy who was being crazy.”
But one crazy man with a gun can often create disastrous effects.
Scialom said “I can only imagine what would have happened if he had accidentally shot someone. There were people everywhere.”
Baltimore police have not yet responded to our inquires about this incident. The real question is why these cops aren’t criminally charged for brandishing and felony aggravated menacing when the commit this sort of criminal activity!

Again, an idiot wearing a badge with gun pointed at innocent people.
There is nothing wrong with dirt bike sports….
I seriously doubt any are stolen.

There must be no real crime going on in Baltimore!!
“Maj. Marc Partee, the Northwest District police commander, melodramatically said that the dirt bike enthusiasts are a “scourge” that need to be stopped.”
That says it all right there. That is how the pigs see We The People. As “scourges that need to be stopped.” It isn’t just dirt bike enthusiasts. It’s everybody.
(Except for Illegal Aliens. They use their catch and release program for them.)
[The] police commander, melodramatically said that the dirt bike enthusiasts are a “scourge” that need to be stopped.
Every in the above bit refers to the cops in that area not dirt bikes as I see it.
Look Out! Them stolen bikes are dangerous! They’ll jump right up & git’cha!

My thoughts exactly. If you or I started brandishing our weapons around, we’d be in jail with our guns taken away. These bastards get a slap on the wrist as always.
