BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) – The U.S. military officials announced in March their plan for the largest military exercise to date, to take place in five southern states, including Texas.

The special operation training, known as Operation Jade Helm 15, is scheduled to launch next week in Bastrop and other Texas towns.

“I do not know what is going on, as most of us don’t, but it does scare me a lot,” said Bastrop neighbor Tuyler Wing.

With little information and a lot of questions, neighbors in Bastrop are unsure what to think about the operation.

“If our government is doing that, then how can I trust that they are going to have soldiers going out in our streets to get to know us and protect us,” Wing added.

The exercise will train all branches of the military for unconventional warfare.

“Everybody needs to calm down,” said Mayor Ken Kesselus. “I don’t think there is any danger in this at all.”

Kesselus says rumors and conspiracy theories have been circling the town since the announcement of the operation.

“(One person) was very concerned that the Jade Helm exercise was going to be an effort to round a bunch of us up, take us out to Camp Swift, kill us, and then take us to the rendering plant to turn us into dog food.”

All of the rumors, he says, are false.

“The maneuvers that they have to do, or are going to do, is what they have to do in order to protect us down the road,” Kesselus added. “It’s a training exercise, for goodness sakes.”

The U.S. Army Special Operation Command tried to calm those rumors earlier this year by answering questions in a community meeting.

“We are going to be doing this, conducting the training exercise safely and courteously. We are not going to interfere with their privacy or their rights with this,” said Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria, director of Public Affairs with the United States Army Special Operations Command.

But some neighbors still remained skeptical.

“The preludes of martial law or ceasing weapons … I hear all kinds of rumors,” Sam Jones added.

“I think we are going to keep on moving just like we always do,” the mayor said. “We are a really resilient community, and I don’t think this is going to bother us at all.”

Gov. Greg Abbott responded to the concerns by reaching out to the Texas Guard to monitor the exercise.

  1. THIS WHOLE JADE HELM IS AGAINST

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) signed on June 18, 1878 by President Rutherford B. Hayes.

nuff said traitors TO THE us govt

  2. “(One person) was very concerned that the Jade Helm exercise was going to be an effort to round a bunch of us up, take us out to Camp Swift, kill us, and then take us to the rendering plant to turn us into dog food.”

Naturally, they make an example of the most ridiculous theory to make all concerns seem silly, and the employment of that strategy indicates there are horrors behind this that they want to keep hidden.

Didn’t we see satellite photos a year or two ago that looked like a huge military camp just south of the border? Maybe the Jade Helm crew will be acting as guides for the Chink army.

    1. And forget whatever the mayor has to say. He’s been promised a safe exit for his help in deceiving the population.

      1. Agreed Jolly. But, he will get a very tight necktie or a pop to the back of the head on his way to the car. That’s what soulless commies do with useful idiots.

  3. ““The maneuvers that they have to do, or are going to do, is what they have to do in order to protect us down the road,” Kesselus added.”

Oh god…puhleasee!!! Spare me the bullshit rhetoric.

““It’s a training exercise, for goodness sakes.”“I think we are going to keep on moving just like we always do,” the mayor said.”

Yep. The old Communist way. Just MOVE FORWARD!!! It worked so well for Mao in China. Someone ought to hang this mayor for high treason.

“We are a really resilient community, and I don’t think this is going to bother us at all.”

Really? Well I think the only person that’s not bothered by it in Bastrop is YOU, you Commie piece of shit!

“Gov. Greg Abbott responded to the concerns by reaching out to the Texas Guard to monitor the exercise.”

Ahh…have no fear, Wheels is here. He’ll save us by “Monitoring the treasonous exercise” instead of doing his job and stopping them from implementing it altogether.

When will people learn? The only way end this treason is by the barrel of a gun. The people of Bastrop County better do what they say they are going to do and chase these bastards out with their 2nd Article Rights when they see them. That’s the only thing that’s going to end this crap and get this shit rolling.

    1. “wheels” , nice!
I was given that moniker in high screwl for my antics in a old 68 firebird.
Wish I had not sold it.

  4. I was reading the local rag the other day and came upon an article concerning the “drug war” in Mexico that made me go hmmmm.

Here is a quote from the short article:
Screw it, here is the entire article in quotes, with my emphasis added.

” Mexico troops kill 6 near U.S. border
    Compiled from news services

Mexico City – After coming under fire, Mexican navy personnel in a Black Hawk helicopter shot back and killed six people near the U.S. border, authorities said on Monday.
The shootings broke out on Sunday in a rural area near Falcon Lake, a reservoir on the Rio Grande. This stretch of border is where two drug cartels, the Jalisco New Generation and the Zetas, have reportedly been fighting.
Some critics have expressed concerns that the RECENT MILITARY BUILDUP- which includes dozens of helicopters and thousands of Humvee trucks — will intensify the drug war, while officials say the sales have replaced outdated equipment.”
