— The body of Omar Meza, a finance company vice president and San Diego native who went missing a week ago during a business trip in Palm Desert, was found Thursday, his family said.

Palm Desert police said in a statement only that the body of a man was found in a “body of water” off Country Club Drive about 2:15 p.m. The cause of death was not yet determined pending an autopsy by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

Family members told television station KMIR in Palm Springs that the body was that of Meza. The family had set up a Facebook page dedicated to finding Meza, 33, who lived with his wife in Los Angeles.

“We are with heavy hearts tonight as we announce the passing of Omar Meza,” the family said on Facebook Thursday night. “He was a very loved son, husband, brother and friend. We would like to take this time to grieve his passing and ask that everyone please respect our privacy at this time.”

Meza had checked in Jan. 8 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and was last seen at a company dinner that night. He had failed to show up for scheduled meetings the next day.

Authorities had extensively searched the hotel grounds for him, using bloodhounds and dive teams for lakes and ponds. His jacket and wallet were found earlier on a resort golf course.

The Desert Sun said the body was found in a pond on the resort grounds.

His wife, Diane Meza, had earlier told CNN that her husband had suffered some memory loss after being injured in a 2013 traffic accident.

Meza was a vice president for AIG Financial Distributors who often went to Palm Desert for business. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was a 2002 graduate of the University of Southern California.

The family thanked authorities and volunteers who helped in the search.

  1. Just another loose end of the financial collapse that had to be tied up.

I have no sympathy for these freaks of finance. Just like all the other dead bankers, this guy was killed because he knew too much, and if he knew too much, he must have done too much, and ruined a lot of innocent lives of hard-working Americans in the process.

I’m glad he’s dead, and I’m only sorry that I didn’t get to see him hang.

    1. Hi Jolly Roger,

Soon as read the headline, my first thought was, “… just another loose tied off!,…..”

      Hahahahahaha,…. that’s to funny!

I guess we’re all getting the picture after all!!

CIA Axiom: “We will know our disinformation champagne is successful when everything Americans believe are lies”

Patriot Corollary: “We will know Patriots are fully awake when they all start having the same instant “bullcrap” gut reaction to the propaganda!”

JD – US Marines – Yes,… I am sure the coroner will rule this AIG Executive’s drowning in 3 inches of water,… an “accidental death”. Nothing to see here people,.. move along,… move along……

      .

      1. Well, J.D… after a while I guess even the people who are most reluctant to accept the truth can’t deny it anymore, and I think we’ve reached the point where we’re now in the majority, at least among thinking people, and influential people.

The tide is slowly turning, but it’s still an uphill battle for the minds of the millions of idiots who can’t be ignored, simply because they’re here and able to cause problems simply by being stupid.

(and that CIA axiom you have up there was actually a quote from an ex-CIA director, William Casey, and that adds the seal of officialdom to the lies)

And by the way, that’s excellent stuff you’re reading on the show — I’m always looking forward to the next installment, and I’ve added it to my “books to buy” list so I can read the whole thing. I’ve never heard of the guy before.

        1. What’s also funny is that you mentioned Koskiusko (or however it’s spelled), and I thought to myself “holy shite…. that must be who they named that shitty little bridge after on the BQE, and a second later you said the same thing.
