The Daily Caller – by Barbara Baird
And so it begins. Quite possibly, one of the most interesting gun control battles in a long time will be held in the world of Mom-dom. Soccer moms from across this land will put on the shoulder pads of pro- or anti-gun control sides and head out for knock-down, drag-out media wars. The field will get bloodied and believe me, there will not be any Kool-Aid moms in white pants running around in this scenario.
The Mom Wars began when Michael Bloomberg, not content to be former king of New York City or media mogul, recently pledged $50 million to defeat the National Rifle Association’s successful pro-Second Amendment efforts with his newest organization, “Everytown for Gun Safety,” which is an umbrella for his other 2 groups, Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
This week, in honor of Mother’s Day, the mommy group will be making national crafts, Mother’s Day cards, in their kitchens. The craft consists of 2 construction paper hands – an adult’s and a child’s – taped together and with these words on the outside, “Our kids’ safety is in our hands.” Open the hands and you’ll see these words on the inside: “This Mother’s Day, pledge to be a Gun Sense Voter gunsensevoter.org.” The organization urges members to give these cards to potential new members – at a basic grassroots level.
The group also took the “Hill” in Washington, D.C., on May 7, during its “Week of Action.”
Meanwhile, the NRA will fight back. First of all, it called on its millions of members to give $25 each to fight Bloomberg, saying, “Bloomberg is one guy with millions. We’re millions with our 25 bucks.” In fact, the NRA asked pro competition shooter and captain of Team Smith & Wesson Julie Golob for permission to use her image on its billboard posters announcing the $25 campaign and unveiled it at the annual meetings in Indianapolis in April.
They chose a formidable mom representative in Golob. One of the world’s top action pistol competitiors, Golob also is raising children. In her blog, she urges the public to take a “MOMent” and talk to their children about responsible gun ownership and handling.
At its meetings, the NRA distributed red-and-white buttons that touted “I’m an NRA Mom.” The supply dwindled quickly. Moms who paid out of their own pockets to come to the annual meetings joined moms who work in the firearms industry and proudly wore these buttons on their tee shirts and lapels. These moms know what an actual target riddled with bullet holes looks like. They have felt the recoil and smelled the powder, and because they understand the importance of the Second Amendment, they are willing to stand shoulder to shoulder against Bloomberg’s corps.
All moms want gun safety. All moms do not equate gun safety with gun control.
All moms want their children and families to be safe. All moms are not willing to defend the Second Amendment.
Bloomberg’s moms believe that taking away all guns eliminates gun crime. NRA moms know this is not true.
Perhaps the one question that needs to be asked of Bloomberg’s mommy corps is this one: If your child was in danger, and the only way to stop the crime was to fire a gun at the miscreant who intended harm to your loved one, would you authorize it or do it? Also, add to this scenario the fact that law enforcement is 12 minutes away.
Or, would you hearken back to your kitchen craft days and say it is OK to sacrifice your innocent child to the evil of this world because of your belief in the anti-gun movement?
That’s all we really need to ask these moms, regardless of how they feel about the 2A. How deep are your convictions?
What side are you really on? You see, it’s not as simple as cutting and taping and writing innocuous words on a piece of construction paper, is it?

Both sides of this battle should find something better to do with their time. It’s a big distraction in stereo. We’re on the brink of war, and these idiots are passing around greeting cards.
And since both sides are allegedly promoting “gun safety” what’s the dispute about?
Why doesn’t the NRA just come out and say that Zionist insurgents want you disarmed so they can slaughter you? Why don’t they expose the lie of the Sandy Hoax shooting?
I have no time for “pro-second amendment” groups that want to live in the Zionist’s fantasy world, or the other gang of idiots that tries to ignore reality altogether.
Hopefully they’ll forget all about gun safety and shoot each other, because one side is just as useless as the other.
Tell us how you really feel, Jolly Roger! 😉
