There is a new proposal in the State of California to prohibit judges from having membership ties with the Boy Scouts.
According to the ‘Ethics Advisory Committee’ of the state Supreme Court, the Boy Scouts are discriminatory against homosexuals and atheists so state judges should be free of any ties with that sort of organization. Here’s the story from SFGate:
The state Supreme Court’s ethics advisory committee wants the court to prohibit California judges from membership in the Boy Scouts…
Banning scout membership would “promote the integrity of the judiciary” and “enhance public confidence in the impartiality of the judiciary,” the ethics committee said Wednesday.
The ethics committee’s unanimous recommendation is another sign of a changing climate that has included increasing public, political and judicial support for same-sex marriage.
Response: Is this really just the beginning? If the Boy Scouts are now considered to be an ‘undesirable’ discriminatory organization since they still do not allow Gay leaders and ask for members to affirm a belief in God can conservative Christians who support the same positions soon also find themselves on the same prohibited list? The rationale would be that everyone is still free to believe whatever they like but judges must be free from any exclusive discriminatory beliefs and ties.
The cultural climate is changing so fast in America it really hard to keep up. Recently in the news, several well qualified Christian professors had a hard time getting tenure at universities. Also in the past year were the stories of several students who were dropped from counseling majors because of their Biblical views. Then there have been a number of accounts of Doctors, pharmacists, and allied health workers who got in trouble for refusing to participate in abortions. Not to mention the Christians business owners who have found themselves in the middle of lawsuits over their refusal to participate in same-sex marriages.
As incredible as it might seem in a nation where religious liberty is supposedly supported by the Constitution, conservative Bible believing Christians might soon find themselves being barred from all sorts of different occupations, professions, and businesses.

Since when is it necessary for organizations to accept anyone and everyone into their ranks? Since when do we have to accept homosexuals into all of our activities? Since when do we have to tolerate other religious beliefs in our organization?
People tend to want to be in groups of people like themselves. Having communities and organizations with different beliefs is normal human behavior. Ia m glad the Boy Scouts have this rule and I support them in having it. If they change it I will no longer support them.
I like what I like, I like who I like and no one will ever have a chance of changing that.
I do not want my kids or myself in an organization that believes differently from me. Let nanny gov have a cow over that one. And see if I give a sh*t.
Agreed… but I thought they already changed the rule. It’s nice to know that the gays didn’t succeed with that, and the scouts are still safe.
There would probably be a lot less discrimination against gays if they didn’t insist on forcing their twisted sexuality on others. Why can’t they start their own “gay scouts” instead of forcing themselves where they’re not wanted?
Heterosexuals have a natural repulsion toward gays, and generally don’t want them around, so they shouldn’t be forced to tolerate them if they choose not to. I wouldn’t let my kid join the boy scouts if I knew he’d be going camping with a bunch of gay guys, because he’d be more susceptible to being introduced to their sexual practices in an environment that lacks females, but I guess that’s exactly the reason for forcing the scouts to accept gays.
It’s not about acceptance, tolerance, or equality. It’s about turning more straight guys into sissies so they’re not so much of a threat to the powers that be.
I was a Cub Scout as well as a Boy Scout.
We’d have beaten the cr@p out of anyone trying to play that faggot sh#t back in those days (50s/60s).
