President Obama has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to conduct a system-wide review of the way it enforces the nation’s immigration laws, asking the department “to see how it can conduct enforcement more humanely within the confines of the law,” according to a White House statement.

For a short time, it appeared that Connecticut police officers might go door to door to confiscate guns from gun owners who’d tried to register their now-illegal firearms after the filing deadline.

The family of a Robstown Independent School District student has filed a federal lawsuit against the Robstown Police Department, the school district, and the city of Robstown, after one of its officers allegedly choked the student to the point of passing out.

The student’s offense?  He was throwing milk in his school’s cafeteria, the suit says.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was formed as a result of the 911, when [supposedly] 19 jihadists, Radical Muslim terrorists, most of whom came from Saudi Arabia, who were armed with box-cutter knives, took over the planes and flew them into the Pentagon and the twin Towers.

Since its awkward birth in 2003, it’s safe to say the baby never learned to walk, or stopped flinging its food or sucking its thumb. But it has grown. An umbrella agency that now incorporates 22 different agencies and components with some 240,000 employees, it has survived mostly because of natural bureaucratic intransigence, but fed also, by the lingering specter of 9/11, which gives it near-impenetrable political security. HOUSTON — Four years after the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion, BP is being welcomed back to seek new oil leases in the Gulf of Mexico.

Following the demise of the Soviet Union and its domination over Eastern Europe in 1991, the constituent components of Yugoslavia began to dissolve. For some time, Serbia, retaining the name of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and under control of the genocidal Slobodan Milosevic, forcefully retained possession of nearby provinces.

Over time, places such as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro gained independence. The southern Serbian region of Kosovo, however, remained part of Serbia. On Saturday, Defense Distributed—America’s best-known group of 3D gunsmiths—announced on Facebook that its founder, Cody Wilson, is now a federally licensed gun manufacturer and dealer. The group published a picture of the Type 7 federal firearms license (FFL) to prove it.

“The big thing it allows me to do is that it makes me [a manufacturer] under the law—everything that manufacturers are allowed to do,” he told Ars. “I can sell some of the pieces that we’ve been making.
