Early last year, the news surfaced that the DEA was bypassing Oregon state law by using administrative subpoenas to get around the state’s warrant requirement for drug prescription database access. “Administrative subpoenas” are yet another government tool that allows agencies to seek information that would normally require a warrant, but without the hassle of running it past a judge or even showing probable cause.

The DEA probably didn’t expect to encounter much resistance to its subpoenas. After all, drugs are bad and the DEA is fighting the good fight. But the state of Oregon wasn’t impressed with the DEA’s warrantless tactics and filed suit with the assistance of the ACLU. LOS ANGELES (CN) – Clueless Hawthorne police beat and Tasered a deaf man as he signaled to them that he was deaf and his friend had loaned him the snowboard he was carrying, the man claims in court.

A top-secret document, obtained by the former N.S.A. contractor Edward J. Snowden, shows that an American law firm was monitored while representing a foreign government in trade disputes with the United States. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has been awarded the task of  creating  a ‘black box’ for your brain through its Defense Sciences department. Much like the black box used in airplanes the microchip brain implant will record your every moment and make it possible to obtain information of your final moments.

The University of Utah has already developed a similar chip. The brain chip delivers signals from an external source directly into the brain for interpretation. The U.S. government reportedly is ordering some drone strikes based on the location of terror suspects’ cell phones — without necessarily confirming the location of the suspects themselves — raising concerns about missiles hitting unintended targets.

The details were included in a report published Monday by journalist Glenn Greenwald’s newest venture, The Intercept. A disabled Army veteran was brutally beaten by a group of 6-8 teenagers in Cleveland on Friday, while bystanders did nothing.

Matthew Robinson, who was riding a Regional Transit Authority (RTA) bus, told station 19 Action News that a group of six to eight teenagers boarded the bus on Feb. 7, followed him off, and started taunting him near Public Square.
