Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, one of the president’s original cabinet appointees, announced her resignation Friday morning, having been nominated to serve as president of the University of California system.

Washington DC -(Ammoland.com)- A report issued by the Family Research Council (FRC) and distributed on Capitol Hill on July 9 2013 claims Christians face growing hostility toward their faith within the American military.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court is scheduled to rule in the case of a man convicted of shooting and injuring two Milwaukee police officers in 2009.
Julius Burton was sentenced to 80 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to the shooting of the officers. Burton wanted to withdraw his pleas, arguing that his former attorney and the lower court didn’t properly advise him, but a state appeals court denied his request. Continue reading “Wis. Gas prices are heading up again.
Rising crude oil prices and a fall in U.S. supplies are driving wholesale gas prices up sharply. That has yet to be fully reflected at the retail level.
Prices at the pump — up 4 cents the past week to a national average of $3.52 a gallon — could climb another 15 cents or higher over the next two weeks. A year ago, the national average was $3.38. Continue reading “Gas prices expected to surge again soon”

MSNBC bills itself as the “place for politics,” but if you’ve been watching the network lately, it’s been all of the Zimmerman trial, all the time. Political director Chuck Todd grew so frustrated with the coverage preempting his Daily Rundown show that he barely concealed his exasperation on-air, as evidenced by a video from the Washington Free Beacon that quickly went viral. Most of the network’s flagship news shows, from Hardball with Chris Matthews to Politics Nation with Al Sharpton, seem to spend more time talking about Trayvon Martin than President Obama. On July 8, police in Cincinnati, Ohio arrested a group of black youths after a four day campaign of hunting down and terrorizing whites in the city’s downtown section during the Independence Day holiday. Have you heard this story in the news? I doubt you have.

The Army has removed from the command of its largest training post the one-star general suspended in May over charges of adultery and involvement in a physical altercation.
