I just purchased a Digital Geiger Counter from Images Scientific Instruments.
I’am doing my best to figure it out and I believe we set it up correct, we will soon try to connect it to our IMac
yesterday 12/9/13 the west side beach readings from our home, were from, mR/hr 1 Min, 30 to 35
Today however I took it to Kaanapoli Beach, I couldn’t believe my eyes but where it read 30 yesterday today it read mR/hr 1 Min, 535, twice, around 12 noon and then fluctuated to 100 then about 2 hours later at home, to 28… PLEASE somebody tell me if I’m doing something wrong or what??
I have never seen it Spiked that high, understand this is the first time I took it right on the beach, usually I had the wand by the open window, 1/2 mile facing the ocean in our place. Today needless to say, we are taking our Potassium Iodide
