Guns Save Lives – by Dan Cannon
A man was walking through an apartment complex in Houston, TX when he was approached by a man who demanded he turn over all of his valuables. It’s not currently clear if the suspect was armed or not.
The victim felt threatened enough to draw his concealed handgun and open fire on the suspect.
The suspect was hit twice, but still managed to flee the area to a waiting getaway car. The suspect along with whoever was in the car fled the scene.
The suspect was found at a nearby hospital by police when he showed up seeking treatment for multiple gunshot wounds.
Police do not expect there to be any charges filed against the resident who fired the shots.
The incident occurred around 11:45pm on Wednesday night. It is not believed the victim was harmed. The suspect was still being treated for his injuries as of today. Since charges are not expected against the victim it is probably safe to assume he was a licensed concealed carrier.
This is the 153rd defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Texas. This is the 1,142nd defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
Texas continues to lead all other states in the number of documented defensive gun uses.
