I read several articles this morning talking about global economic recession due to the coronavirus. As a matter of fact, the DOW has lost over 2,500 points in just three days. As I thought about that, another thought occurred to me…
What is the actual kill rate of the coronavirus?
Listening to the mainstream media and their news reports would have us think 25%+ of infected people were dying.

However, after reading numerous articles, the kill rate for the coronavirus is 2%, worst case!
The mortality rate is around 2% in the epicentre of the outbreak, Hubei province, and less than that elsewhere. For comparison, seasonal flu typically has a mortality rate below 1% and is thought to cause about 400,000 deaths each year globally. Sars had a death rate of more than 10%. – Guardian
Look, any percent is too much. No one wants to perish, I get it.
However, we are being told financial armageddon is imminent over a virus that is killing just 2% of those infected by it.
Meanwhile, we have China calling for more control over their citizens and our own government spending billions of taxpayer dollars on vaccines and other necessities.
Now let’s ask more questions folks…
- How many of that 2% were already ill?
- How many were in the latter years of their life?
Hey, as we get older, our immune system does not work as well. We become more suseptible to these sort of things. Yes, it is very sad, but it is apart of life, and we need to remember that and not let fear and emotion sweep us away.
So I had another thought…
Common Cold / Seasonal Flu Kill Rate
What is the kill rate for the common cold / seasonal flu?
It turns out the kill rate for the common cold/flu is just about 1%.
Yes, you read that correctly.
So we have mass hysteria around the globe over the coronavirus. A virus that has a kill rate which merely doubles the common cold / seasonal flu.
Summary
The moral of the story is always ask questions and dive into the numbers. Never allow yourself to panic about a situation, otherwise, emotion acts instead of your brain.
To be quite honest, the coronavirus should not make global headline news with just a 2% kill rate. After all, according to the experts, the SARS virus had a kill rate of 10%, yet it never made such constant and fear mongering global headlines.
If the fear mongering continues at just a 2% death toll, and brings down the global markets…
I say this was by design.
My own opinion as to why most folks don’t “dive into the numbers”–they (with or without Common Core) can’t “do the math”!–from a former HS math teacher.
ah, Mr. Brandon Ward (author)… I hate to break up the optimism party, but the Spanish flu killed off about 50 million people with a 2% mortality rate, and that was with a much smaller global population, difficult travel, and much less densely populated areas.

Still all the sheep will clamor for the vaccine when they release it,.
Sure 2 percent China would lose trIllions of dollars over 2 percent ratio…. man wake the hell up they are moving in 40 portable crematorium to handle dead , they use test that does not work to keep numbers down ,if you cant get to hospital and die at home thats not counted and all hospitaks are full, they weld people into homes, they stopped all importation except medical supplies and pork.

Flu 2 percent death rate. USA has only used less than 500 tests of the faulty kind.
