Wikipedia: “In 1967, three years after winning the heavyweight title, Ali refused to be conscripted into the U.S. military, citing his religious beliefs and opposition to American involvement in the Vietnam War. He was eventually arrested and found guilty on draft evasion charges and stripped of his boxing title.” 🙁
He was just a big mouth black person. He won a rigged fight. The Sheeple worshiped him for what reason I do not know. It was all hype, remember this was the time when the race issue was number one in the once great
US of A.
I thought he died in the 80’s. He vanished after he quit boxing.
Boy did they ever make a ton exploiting him. Ali Had wit, humor, and the best punch in the business, Don King had his “Golden Goose nigger”. Howard Cosell rode Ali’s tailcoats and who would even remember the “Rumble in the Jungle” if not for Ali’s showmanship. The guy was pure gold in his career, it seemed everything he touched turned to gold.
No matter what you think of Ali, his legacy will live on. And yes, of course, all boxing is “rigged” when Vegas gets involved.
I think Ali owes the most to Joe Frazier. Those fights were legendary, never been heavyweight fights with such spectacle since.
Not a hero but a coward muzlim. Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr….
Whatever respect I had for the man after refusing to be drafted was gone after he INTENTIONALLY lost to Spinks for the express purpose of being the only fighter to regain the heavyweight title for a third time.
POS!
