Screven County, Georgia – Mother and substitute teacher Julie Giles was arrested this week because her son had too many unexcused absences from public school.

With bee numbers dropping dramatically in the last years, it’s time to take some drastic measures, and a White House task force including participation from more than a dozen federal agencies has concluded that limiting pesticide use may be the last resort we have to maintain bee numbers.

The humble bee plays a key role in agriculture; in the US alone, they provide environmental services through pollination estimated at $10-15 billion every year, according to the USDA.. If bees continue to vanish at these rates, then we can expect anything from rising prices in common foods to actual food shortages – it’s high time some drastoc measures are taken.   Continue reading “Pesticide limit may be the last resort to save the bees, White House says”

On Monday, US President Barack Obama traveled to Camden, New Jersey, America’s poorest city, to praise it’s brutal police department and reaffirm his support for federal programs that have transferred billions of dollars in military hardware to local police departments.

Lawmakers for the nationalist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia have proposed a bill that would punish anyone making public statements equating the USSR with Nazi Germany a criminal offence by up to three years in prison.

The bill’s sponsor, Vitaliy Zolochevskiy, told Izvestia daily that he wanted to toughen the existing law on responsibility for rehabilitation of Nazism in view of the current struggle against attempts to rewrite history that is taking place in Russia and abroad. OCALA — Acting on a tip about a cache of missiles and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, Marion County authorities said Monday that they might have thwarted a series of attacks against the Eustis Police Department, a church and a youth camp.

A 9 year old boy named Alex was found in tears, confined, and shivering in a small empty room today at Carl Schurz Elementary School. Alex’s mom was taken to this room after being denied five times by the vice principal to accompany her to retrieve Alex. A Couple from Cottage Grove, Minnesota discovers a man living inside a secret laboratory inside their basement.  On Tuesday, officers with the Warrington County Sheriffs Office went to the Morgan family’s home after receiving a call of a possible break in.  When the officers pulled up they saw the Morgan Family standing by the road.

According to The Hill, Moms Demand Action’s Texas leader, Angela Turner, said, “There is no single solution to ending gun violence, but we do know that background checks on all gun sales save lives and keep guns out of the wrong hands.”
