In Green Cove Springs Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis urged disenchanted cops from elsewhere in the country to come to Florida.

One reason? The “culture is better” compared to other states.

“I do think you will see; I think you’ve already seen. U.S. Capitol Police will begin fielding military surveillance equipment as part of sweeping security upgrades as the force becomes “an intelligence-based protective agency” after the Jan. 6 attack.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently approved a Capitol Police request for eight Persistent Surveillance Systems Ground – Medium (PSSG-M) units. The system provides high-definition surveillance video and is enabled with night vision. The system does not include facial recognition capabilities, the Pentagon said. If a leaf on a branch one hundred feet in the air decides it needs a particular nutrient, it can select from one of 41 items on a menu. Suppose it wants a stronger structure and chooses calcium. It selects calcium and sends that as a chemical message 100 feet plus feet down to the roots of the tree where the message is delivered to an adjacent mycorhizzal fungi (Latin for root fungi) which delivers the requested calcium in exchange for sugars made by the leaves of the tree in photosynthesis.  The calcium then makes its way back up the tree to the leaf.
