The Biden administration banned new oil and gas leases on a large swath of federal lands in New Mexico after a group of Native American tribes requested the action.
President Joe Biden said he would soon be “taking action to protect the Greater Chaco Landscape in northwestern New Mexico from future oil and gas drilling and leasing” during a White House ceremony Monday with tribal leaders from around the country. Prosecutors in the child sex trafficking case against Ghislaine Maxwell say the defendant “set up VIP elites” with children to rape, court documents show.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on President Biden to make use of emergency petroleum reserves in an effort to lower gas prices ahead of the holiday season.

Dr. Fauci on Sunday told CBS “Sunday Morning” senior contributor Ted Koppel that there’s a “misplaced perception” about people’s rights superseding “societal safety.”
“One of the things that to me was most difficult to accept is that we put together a good plan for how we were going to try and dampen down the spread of infection early on thinking that that was accepted by everybody,” Fauci said to Koppel. “And then, the next day you have the president [Trump] saying, ‘Free Michigan. Free Virginia.’ I didn’t quite understand what the purpose of that was, except to put this misplaced perception about people’s individual right to make a decision that supersedes the societal safety. The Pentagon weighed in Monday on Oklahoma’s decision to defy a mandate that National Guard troops get COVID-19 vaccinations, saying Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has the final authority despite the state’s announcement.
The new Oklahoma National Guard adjutant general, Brig. Gen. Thomas Mancino, issued a memo last week notifying troops they would not be required to take the COVID vaccine after he was appointed by Gov. A group of seven Australian women, some of whom were subjected to invasive medical examinations after authorities found an abandoned baby at Doha international airport, are planning on suing the Qatar government, their lawyer confirmed Tuesday.

American software company Salesforce has introduced a $40,000 financial package for its transgender employees around the world, including money for sex change operations and hundreds of dollars for new clothes.
Salesforce will provide its package for employees globally after previously launching it in the United States and Canada. Transgender staff will be able to take four weeks of paid leave and receive $40,000 to pay for sex change surgery, hair transplants, hormone replacement, and legal fees, and will even receive a budget of up to $500 for new clothes “to help them look and feel their best” – one of the newest additions to Salesforce’s package.
