Democrat Doug Jones: The Second Amendment Has ‘Limitations’

Breitbart – by AWR Hawkins

Doug Jones, the Democrat running for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat, says he loves to hunt but the Second Amendment has “limitations.”

He believes that every right enumerated in the Bill of Rights is limited, and the Second Amendment is no exception.

According to the Alabama Political Reporter, Jones described himself as “a Second Amendment guy,” but stressed that some gun control is necessary. He said, “We’ve got limitations on all constitutional amendments in one form or another.” This position is contrary to the clear language of the amendment, which states that the right to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed.”

He stressed that he loves to hunt but still believes in “smart” gun laws.

During a September 24, 2017, appearance on Meet the PressJones said, “The biggest issue, I think, that’s facing the Second Amendment right now is that we need to make sure we shore up the National Crime Information System, the NICS system for background checks, to both keep guns out of the hands of criminals, but at the same time, cut down on error so that law-abiding citizens can get those.”

New gun control focused on background checks has been introduced by Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) since Jones’ appearance on Meet the Press. Like Jones, Sen. Murphy believes the Second Amendment has limitations.

During a May 2013 appearance on Rachel Maddow Lean ForwardMurphy said, “The Second Amendment is not an absolute right, not a God-given right. It has always had conditions upon it like the First Amendment has.”

      Vote Roy Moore?
Are you suggesting that our people commit treason by voting in a occupied sponsored election?
We are under martial law via the War Powers Act. Our common law courts and our Bill of Rights are suspended by this occupation. Anyone who give acquiescence through participation is guilty of treason.
You think you can come on this site and advocate treason, you f#@king Trumpet piece of shit?

    • Katie says:

Some idiots won’t be convinced of the truth in your statement because they fail to accept the truth about the purpose of our 2nd article of our Bill of Rights which is to throw off a tyrannical regime.
They will vote thinking this is how you fix what can’t be fixed without force.

  4. Martist says:

The English language and comprehension of this a$$#@t is inconceivable.

It’s short, sweet, absolute and unalienable.

In an overthrown, occupied govt that kills ya daily, do ya think they wouldn’t touch voting and still allow it to be the way to remove them? Why? WHY?!?!

  5. WIL E.KOYOTE ( SUPER GENIUS) says:

I ASKED MY CIVICS TEACHER IN THE 7TH GRADE, “SHOULD WE VOTE”?
    HE SAID,
“UNLESS THERE IS A SERIOUS DESIRE IN THE HEART OF THE PEOPLE TO DO RIGHT BY ONE ANOTHER, I WOULD SAY NO,
BECAUSE THE WAY IT IS HEADING, THE MAJORITY WILL BE RULED BY AN IGNORANT, EVIL, YET DETERMINED MINORITY”, THAT THINK THE BILL OF RIGHTS ONLY APPLY TO THEM.”……………

      I WAS BORN IN ’60,
SO THIS SHIT HAS BEEN GOING ON A LONG TIME IF EVEN MY GRAMMAR SCHOOL TEACHERS WARNED US………….

  6. Scott says:

Negative……Doug Jones would make a great Supreme Court Judge. Talking about this shit is long overdue!

  7. Jolly Roger says:

“…He believes that every right enumerated in the Bill of Rights is limited, and the Second Amendment is no exception….”

I agree, but they’re ILLEGALLY limited, and the limitations keep piling up, and that’s why change is long overdue.

  8. Ed Teach says:

I agree with Henry. The war powers act has declared martial law and the bill of rights has been suspended.

I also disagree with Katie that the second amendment is not for the throwing off a tyrannical regime. It rather to prevent one from forming altogether. By the time we must throw of a tyrannical regime, there is no Bill of rights anymore.
Not that it matters now because everyone over 18 is guilty of allowing this to happen or keep happening. And the older one is the more that compounds.

I’m not for the killing of anyone…mostly, but we must decide if we want this hell to be a nicer place or is it the suffering in its current state that makes heaven a worthy goal.

    • Katie says:

“I also disagree with Katie that the second amendment is not for the throwing off a tyrannical regime. It rather to prevent one from forming altogether. By the time we must throw of a tyrannical regime, there is no Bill of rights anymore.”

Excellent point and thanks for educating me more fully.

  9. # 1 NWO Hatr says:

Unfortunately, there’s also limitation on what we can do to traitors.

We can only hang them once.

  10. galen says:

In 2002 I took the plunge. I decided I could no longer vote, could no longer legitimize the foolery, from falling chads, to media persuasion, to false counts. The B.S. was so pronounced that it was easy to walk away from that false enterprise. It felt so liberating to stop voting, raised my self-respect. I wasn’t going to continue to let them make a fool of me.

There are so many avenues for positive change; voting is not one of them. When I see people continuing to vote, I kinda weep inside. Empty hope, hope that backstabs and deludes. Next step was unregistering. Thank you, Henry.
