‘I don’t understand why civilians need military weapons’ – Condi Rice

RT

Condoleezza Rice doesn’t “understand why civilians need to have access to military weapons.” The former Secretary of State’s comments are seemingly at odds with her support for the 2nd Amendment.

Rice, George W Bush’s secretary of state, was speaking to radio host Hugh Hewitt on Friday when she questioned the need for military weapons. “I think it is time to have a conversation about what the right to bear arms means in the modern world,” she said

“I don’t understand why civilians need to have access to military weapons. We wouldn’t say you can go out and buy a tank,” she added.

Rice’s loyalty to the 2nd Amendment is in some part tied to her childhood in Birmingham, Alabama, which saw her exposed to violence against the black community by the Ku Klux Klan. Recalling how her father and other men in the community protected them at that time, Rice said, “I think it’s a pure version of the second Amendment, as a matter of fact, the right to bear arms.”

“The rights that we have in the Constitution are indivisible,” Rice said. “We can’t throw away the Second Amendment and keep the First.”

While President Donald Trump and the National Rifle Association have called for teachers to be armed in the wake of the Florida school shooting that killed 17, Rice doesn’t think arming teachers with guns is “going to be the answer.”

“I don’t really like the idea, frankly, of a gun in my classroom,” she said. Rice teaches political science at Stanford University.

“Look, if people need to train people to protect our schools, and perhaps even communities want to consider whether or not they need guards to protect the schools, it’s a sad thing to think that we might, then that’s something that we should look at,” she said.

    It’s not a military weapon

But for her knowledge we are allowed to have every weapon of war our government has and yes a Tank , you quivering yellow bellied traitors
As long as we can afford it
There are no restrictions put on OUR second amendment rights
Only restrictions are that we the people can put in our government

She needs to realize where ,who and why her bread is even buttered

    You work for US
Figure it out or you should be gone

All this out of her mouth as she has an armed security team
    And armored transport
And figures our kids ain’t worth protecting
But she sure is .. all government security teams need to go until they quit being hypocrites

    1. AND THE ONLY REASON YOU CANT “AFFORD” THAT TANK IS BECAUSE OF PARASITIC INTERNATIONAL BANKERS……………..

      1. Amen
        I want my A1M1 subsidy

        Now!

With one sitting in my driveway
I’ll have the ability to negotiate if they think they are going to violate my rights
        Lol

  2. Guess what sweetie the military is formed from the citizenry, guess what there are already guns in your classroom, what a dope. These statements by her should be enough to send her back to the farm.

  3. She doesn’t understand why? Fine then. Drop her nappy a$$ off in North Korea until she gets it. If she don’t come back, one less idiot to deal with.

  4. Now….I don’t have to defend the second article from anyone in this crowd, but an argument can be made (by someone other than myself) that it may not apply to tanks.

The wording of the article itself (keep and “bear” arms), may be interpreted to mean you’re limited to any arms that you can carry (because of the word “bear”).

A tank would be an unbearable load, because you can’t carry it.

    1. Cannons couldn’t be carried, yet the militia had cannons. I am sure our founders never intended us disarmed in ANY way.

    2. Tench Coxe, one of the key proponents for the 2nd Article, said the right covered “every terrible implement of the soldier”. And in that day it covered a 4000 pound brass canon, so yeah, a tank is covered.

      1. LOL…………………………..
HELLO “ATTORNEY”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT DOES “KEEP” MEAN THEN?
TO USE AS A FAGGOTS SEX TOY?
        MORON!!!!!

        1. Holy Moly, Koyote, that’s a BINGO!! The word “keep,” so often overlooked. It’s like I didn’t hear it untill today. Thank you!!

          Keep, keep, KEEP!!!

          🙂

          .

  5. On the upside, it’s always good when letter party “loyalists” or ideologists talk out of both sides of their hypocritical mouths, it exposes their deceit.

It isn’t stupidity, it’s simply pandering to both stupid loyalists and they usually cheer for even MORE of it, but on occasion it does wake a few up.

  6. I understand;

It’s to repel a government who would plan and murder thousands on 9/11, then subsequently murder millions, all so they could get their little Endless War.

Bitch. You should have been strung up with the rest of them.

  7. So many good points already made here, I’ll just add that I just looked up the word “bear” and another definition of it is to convey, like a ship will bear its cargo to a certain port. And like Crazy Harry said, to own/possess. So “bear” is a very big word, leaving us a lot of room for our rights.

And yeah, like EOTS and Koyote said, we’d have everything they have if they weren’t stealing all our money.

They deserve no supremacy in any matter, especially in the dealing out of life and death. In fact, they need to embrace their subservience to We The People.

ps: I’m saving for a tank.

    🙂

  8. ok. how about a different tack to this dumb argument….

the us government trains soldiers to kill thereby making him/her/transwhatever into a ….wait for it….”military killing machine”.

when they are not soldiers anymore they are still in possession of this knowledge making them “more dangerous” than ordinary us citizens.

if we use the same logic that the anti gunners use in this case, we should not allow veterans back into the country after serving…..

    or

kitchen knives are ok but why does anyone need a bayonette?

  9. Our Rights do not come from, given by nor granted by our precious Constitution. Period. The Constitution and the first 10 amendments is NOT the source of your rights. Read the document again, and read what is actually says and not what you think it says. Read what the Founders wrote in other documents to understand their mindset and intent. Our “Rights” are our natural birthright given to us by The ultimate authority: God. By God, I am talking about the ONLY true God, the God of the Bible. Our Creator. For the non-religious, our Rights are founded in the concept called “Natural Law”. Bottom line, if a “right” is granted by “the State”, then it is not a right but a privilege, which the State can revoke at any time for any reason.

Ms. Rice’s comments have only confirmed the suspicion that she does not know what she is talking about. Not in the slightest. If that were true, in the context of the recent mass shooting, then Joe Sixpack would have and be able to buy a standard issue military assault rifle (the real deal) along with a machine gun using by our combat troops. I’ve yet to see M-4s or Squad automatic weapons for sale at your local gun store.
Nor does she (along with a large segment of the public) know that hunting rifles were/are military surplus rifles or designed off a military rifle. The common hunting round, the 30-06 was at one time a military round. There is a very long history of a military issued rifle, being later used as a hunting rifle.
One of the reasons for the popularity of the AR platform rifles is how it lends itself to modification/customization. Given that the M-16 and the AR have been around since the 60’s, it is going to be very popular with vets. Of course you are not going to use an AR-15 to go deer hunting. It is the wrong rifle for the job, it is a varmint rifle. There is a reason why some shooters from the “old school” referred to the M-16/AR-15 as a “poodle shooter”.
So Connie, would you kindly shut the f!@k up.

  10. “I don’t understand why civilians need to have access to military weapons.”

    Poor confused thing.

I’ll wager you’ll understand CLEARLY, once that rope is stretching that commie jewb#tch neck of yours.

  11. Here are 3 Condi quotes that gave me a bit more insight into who she is:

“Great powers can’t get tired, because the international order is not self-governing.”

“Football is like war. It’s about taking territory.”

“I have enormous respect for people who do run for office.”

Some might say, War-hawk! Thief! Imperialist! Statist! Globalist! Feel free to grow the list.
