Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon will deploy more than 2,000 National Guardsmen tonight to prevent a recurrence of the rioting that rocked the town of Ferguson after a grand jury cleared Police Officer Darren Wilson in the death of teenager Michael Brown.
“The violence we saw last night cannot be repeated,” Nixon said sternly.
“The National Guard presence is to be ramped up significantly,” he said. He will deploy 2,200 tonight, Nixon said.
He called the aftermath a “heartbreaking sight,” and said “seniors are afraid to leave the house and children are afraid to go out and play… We must do better and we will.”
The governor’s plan came shortly after Ferguson Mayor James Knowles criticized the governor’s decision to wait to send the National Guard into the protests after the grand jury decision was announced.
The mayor also asked that there be stepped up protections tonight.
“We must be prepared ahead of time. We must be prepared for the absolute worst,” he said.
Knowles said the National Guard was not deployed ahead of time Monday night, a move he said cost the city.
“Unfortunately as unrest grew and further assistance was needed, the National Guard was not deployed in enough time to save all of our businesses,” said Knowles, adding it’s “deeply concerning.”
He said that by waiting to send in the National Guard to provide assistance for the law enforcement officers already on the ground, protesters were able to do more damage to private property and local businesses.
“Some of these businesses have been hit twice,” Knowles said.
At least a dozen businesses were burned along with a couple of police cars during Monday night’s protests, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said earlier today.
“We reached out both through unified control and through political channels to make it known we needed more assets,” Knowles said of his office’s efforts to get the National Guard sent in as soon as property began being attacked.

yeah, you and me both.
I don’t know exactly what’s happening in Ferguson (who does?), but I don’t think they got the violence they wanted (expected), and they have a lot invested in causing race riots there, so I’m going to guess that this nonsense is far from over.
Just read an article in one of Canada’s newspapers The Globe and Mail that protest organizers are asking white/non black people to not be in front areas and stay in the back of protests.
They say it is to not cause confusion and that this is only about black people, not a solidarity issue.
QUOTE FROM PAPER :Bilan Arte, one of the Ottawa event organizers, says on the vigil’s Facebook page that “white/non black allies” should “refrain from taking up space” and “never be the centre of anything.”
Of course! They want a race riot and you can’t have that if you have both blacks and whites on the MSM TV. 😉
It’s all staged as always.
I don’t know where else to post this and I don’t mean to hijack but while I was watching the riots on tv I noticed every time they panned out and took video from the sky there swirling over the top of the masses I seen some type of swirling laser almost like it was scanning them or identifying targets.does anyone know what that is? It had to be coming from a drone or aircraft of some sort.
Nobodysname, Your in the right place, sounds like you made an observation that nobody else did, Good job, keep up the good work….
Thanks but I really want to find out what it is so I can figure how to combat/ evade it if need be.
Are you sure it wasn’t people from the ground possibly pointing laser pointers at the choppers in the skies to disrupt their vision and so on?
No it was too broad of movement rapidly moving in a vast area. I don’t know how to post videos on here to show all I can say is watch and when the footage pans out and it’s night time you can see it. It moves in an elongated orbital rapidly and it follows the crowd masses. It is deffently coming from the sky.
“He called the aftermath a “heartbreaking sight,” and said “seniors are afraid to leave the house and children are afraid to go out and play…”
So, in other words, mission accomplished.
Or at least partially?
Well, they couldn’t deploy the National Guard on the first night because that might have led to a conflict between the No-Go’s and the DHS and cop provocateurs that were to cause the riots. The NG wouldn’t know to stand aside like the cops do.
The American police brag to your face they can handle it no matter what it is. So why is the National Guard there? They say they alone can handle all. Or did that mean they can stand on a street corner and handle it while running mouth at the same time? They like to murder beat tase and shoot dogs. So turn around is fair play here. Tell them to handle it on there own. They start it no need to call in all ther gang. Just them alone should be let to handle there little problem.
