HOUSTON, Texas — A Fort Bliss soldier was charged in the death of El Paso County Constable Robert White, following a fight on Halloween night.
White was providing security at a haunted house in Canutillo on Friday night, the Associated Press (AP) reported. At some point during the night, White was punched in the face; he fell to the ground, “bleeding profusely” and was unresponsive, according to the El Paso Times.
He later died in a nearby hospital as a result of his injuries.
Witnesses identified 19-year-old Devon Huerta-Person as the suspect. Apparently, Huerta-Person and White were fighting prior to the punch.
Although Huerta-Person attempted to flee the scene subsequent to the incident, he was later apprehended by authorities.
White was well-known in the El Paso area. He was noted for arresting rapper Paul Wall for possessing marijuana in a drug-free zone, the El Paso Times reported.
Sheriff Richard Wiles reportedly said in a statement, “Constable Robert White was a true professional who represented the very essence of public service. This incident is a tragic reminder of the dangers faced by our law enforcement officers as they work to protect us all. We send our sincerest condolences to his family and friends and ask that the El Paso community keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
Huerta-Person was charged with capital murder and is currently being held on $5 million bond.

Now what did the cop do to provoke the kid
He was working as private security at the time. That limits his actions. So it is ovious he still thought he was a cop and not a security guard. That gets many citizen killed in America. The cop thinking.
The dangers they face as they protect us all. Fact- more truckdrivers die on the job every year than cops. Fact- The Supreme Court has ruled several times that pigs do not have to protect anyone. Now have your big humungus funeral & collect all that overtime to bury someone you never met. Just like the striking nurses. A profession my ass. It all boils down to money.
( my I’m cynical on election day)
