A manhunt was underway in north-central West Virginia after four people were fatally shot in three attacks, authorities said.

State police spokesman Lt. Michael Baylous said the attacks took place Monongalia County, in the Cheat Lake and Westover areas. Baylous said Sharon Kay Berkshire, 39, of Westover, and Michael David Frum, 28, of Maidsville, were among those found dead early Monday.

County 911 Director Mike Wolfe told The Dominion Post that police were searching for a black Ford F-150 truck with a sticker in the back window and a blacked-out, unreadable license plate. The Post said emergency radio traffic indicated police are searching for Jody Hunt, 39, described as armed and dangerous.

“We ask that everyone stay vigilant and use their discretion about whether they should leave their homes,” Wolfe said.

All county schools were in “a working lockdown mode,” the school district’s website said. “This means that no one can enter or exit the school. Students will be supervised at all times. Monongalia County Schools top priority is keeping students and staff safe!”

  2. What are the odds it’ll turn out to be one of these…

“…a “homegrown American extremist” with ties to a Christian identity hate group,…”
