      1. Click on the donate logo at the top of the page and donate with a credit card or through paypal then add a note that you want to be entered into the drawing, or you can send a money order to Henry at his po box that is listed under authors on the front page of the site. Good luck Dekinekind.

        1. You do not have to ask to be in the drawing. Any donation automatically enters you in the drawing.
And thanks to all those stepping up.

  1. Damn dude! I was thinking of purchasing walkie talkies for months now. Good move, Mark! These will definitely come in handy for anyone.

  2. You can google FRS antenna mods and turn these into mini ham radios.

There is a part one and a part two you tube mod

    1. with the low power/watts a log periodic or other high gain/dbi 440 mhz antenna is needed.

typical frs is 1/2 watt, gmrs 1 watt

a chinese ham radio will get 5-8 watts and ditching the stock antenna is the first order of business on those.

a great gift of course but always have to chuckle at the 30 mile ratings on those.

if one operator was in a ballon your distance range improves.

    1. and balloon rides… actually talked to some Canadians who modified a ham hand held radio and sent it up with a helium bag, basicaly creating a 5 watt repeater and got several hundred miles of contacts on vhf band.
