Grow Your Own: Moving Tomato Seedlings 2.0

Published on Mar 30, 2015 by Joe from the Carolinas

An update to our last video, showing progress 2 weeks later. Shot this after sundown. All tomato seedlings planted in 3″ pots shot in our last video have been moved to larger, deeper, and FREE insulated coffee cups, to ride out the next 2-3 weeks before our frost-free date in April 2015.

These seedlings are all “hardened off”. Each sunny day, these seedlings were moved outside for a few hours, then back inside.

“Hardening off” a vegetable seedling means that you are getting the plants ready for living outside full time.

  1. I didn’t even start my tomatoes yet, and he’s already moving his.

I’m still waking up to temps in the teens, and my garden is under two feet of snow. It’s hard to get in a gardening state of mind when you can’t even see the ground yet.
