Hackers Hijack US Army Website

hackerThe Daily Sheeple – by Joshua Krause

Yesterday, Brigadier General Malcolm Frost announced that the US Army’s Website, Army.mil, had been hacked. “After this came to our attention, the Army took appropriate preventive measures to ensure there was no breach of Army data by taking down the website temporarily.” The Syrian Electronic Army, a pro-Assad hacker group that has been critical of US foreign policy, took credit for the attack on Twitter.

They’ve been around since 2011, and though their exact relationship with the Assad government is unclear, they’ve been known to deface and hijack the websites of mainstream news outlets, and the Facebook pages of politicians. In this latest attack, they directly targeted a website frequented by US Army personnel, and presumably potential recruits. Anyone visiting army.mil yesterday would have been greeted with the following message:

army.mil

The message is most likely in reference to recently exposed documents that prove the US government has been largely responsible for the rise of ISIS. As of this writing, no mention of the hack can be seen on Army.mil.

  1. “The Syrian Electronic Army, a pro-Assad hacker group that has been critical of US foreign policy, took credit for the attack on Twitter.”

    Or SOMEONE did, anyway.

    Still trying to demonize Assad.

  2. Why doesn’t the military operate on a closed system not accessible to anyone with a computer? It’s like they want the opposition to know what they are doing.

    1. Or they want US to think they’re being hacked, when they really aren’t, so they can blame whatever target they choose.

      Justification fodder.

      1. My thinking as well. More “evidence” of a scary bogeyman who can get us if we are told they can even get the army.

Gawrsh, what’r we gonna doooo…..?! Please save us. Yawn

They know how not to get hacked. Again, they are playing the victim card of one who has gotten bested by an enemy so ruthless and powerful “they” will stop at nothing to take down the bastion of freedom known as U.S.A. because they hate us for our free-dumb.

Thank God we have our govt to protect us (sarcasm)

  3. Oh, no! Our army has been hacked and then maybe we should have hackers instead of armies or who is it we’re afraid of this week?

  4. trust me if this were legit , it wouldn’t be the second third or 4th etc time .. happen once and it would NEVER happen again .. I call Bull shit on the entire lie
