Home improvement retailer Lowe’s has laid off thousands of workers as the company begins the process of outsourcing them to third-party companies.
The company is eliminating thousands of maintenance and assembly workers who put together products such as wheelbarrows and grills.
Third-party assemblers and facility services will then take over the roles.
According to Lowe’s, the move is to ensure its current staff are able to spend more time on the shop floor assisting customers.
As of February 1, the company had roughly 190,000 full-time employees in total, and another 110,000 part-time workers.
In a statement provided to MailOnline the company said: ‘We are moving to third-party assemblers and facility services to allow Lowe’s store associates to spend more time on the sales floor serving customers.’
‘Associates who were in these positions will be given transition pay and have the opportunity to apply for open roles at Lowe’s.’
The home improvement chain has been closing stores since Marvin Ellison took over the company in 2018.
The store has shuttered 51 ‘underperforming’ stores across the US and Canada.
It claimed that the decision was ‘part of its ongoing strategic reassessment’ and would allow the company to ‘focus on its most profitable stores and improve the overall health of its store portfolio.’
All of their “third-party” installation “experts” have been wetbacks.
Their outsourced assemblers probably are going to be as well.
They are joo owned and support its-not-real, so it’s safe to say.
NOT ALL…… I USED TO SUBCONTRACT FOR THESE ASSHOLES BACK IN THE DAY….AND I AM AN “EXPERT”. “They are joo owned and support its-not-real,” THIS IS TRUE. I HAD TO QUIT WHEN THEY VIOLATED OUR CONTRACT….. THAT THEY DREW UP. UNSCRUPULOUS THIEVES DEMANDED THAT THEY TAKE CREDIT FOR MY INSTALLATIONS….
MY WORK IS JUST THAT.
MINE.
YOU CAN HAVE IT WHEN I DIE……..
Well what do you expect. Lowe’s is owned by the same family that owns Walmart. It is just owned by different family members. That has been a guarded secret for years. Ever notice that where there is a Walmart, there is usually a low’s close buy.
