How Big is a Trillion Dollars?

Published on Aug 31, 2011

Explanation of large sums of money and the way the United States Government is able to spend astronomical sums of money with apparent ease. Note that in the United States we use the “short scale” system for large numbers where one thousand is 1,000, one million is 1,000,000, one billion is 1,000,000,000 and one trillion is 1,000,000,000,000. Canada and some others use the “long scale”. I made this video to illustrate problems with the US economy and in doing so referred to the number system used in the US. If it offends you that our number system is not the same as that used in your country please accept my humble apologies.
